Probably one of the normal act bosses. Mephisto would be my guess. But it would be better to just do normal higher level item mfing and then sell the stuff for Angelic's imo.
andariel is very good for dropping rings, so are the high council in tristram
I have found more than a dozen angellic armors, rings, and ammy's from flayering (including the flayer dungeon) with my baba in the past 6 months.

For me, normal council runs with high MF have yielded lots of Angelic jewelry. And you can hork the corpses with Find Item if you have it, for a possible second chance.

angelic rings are common as hell, ammys aren't, i'd go with nm cows runs

What about SoJs... what's the best monster/location statistically to drop it? I seem to recall it being NM council at one point, but that was several versions ago and I could be wrong anyway...

Unfortunately, the excellent drop calculator in ATMA is LoD-only, and there are significant differences between LoD and Classic that affect where an SoJ can drop. NM Andy is great for SoJs in LoD but she can't drop an SoJ in Classic. (Warning to those who think that NM Andy can- we've discussed this many times before, and she can't. Champion monsters near her could in principle drop an SoJ even though she can't, but that is not likely at all.)
I think Hell Andy would be the best choice in Classic overall and she can drop plenty of other nice gear as well, particularly with the so-called Andy glitch. Ghost-type creatures drop rings more than other monsters and I've found two SoJs in the Countess' tower from champion ghosts when questing over the years. The other places where there are lots of ghost-type creatures (Arcane and River of Flame) are terrible for finding items since if the ghost is killed while floating in space no items drop.
For most uniques and sets i say best is to go nm cow with a java.
Sure, other monsters have better chances to drop, but the sheer number of cows you can drop in such a short time makes up for it IMO.

I have never found anything in hell cows
where can one find bane ash, kneel striker and angelic armors?
bane ash was discussed once (I started the thread), but the Cold Crow (or however the archer in cave is called) did not give me a single one

I have had very good luck finding the TC3 set and unique items (which include Gull, Knell Striker, Bane Ash, etc) from running the normal Cow King with a barb with high MF who can hork the corpse. The Angelic Mantle ring mail seems to drop all the time from Meph on any difficulty, and is much easier to find than the other pieces of the Angelic set, in my experience.
TC3 S/U items take a lot of searching- there are a lot of items in TC3 and the chance of any particular one is low, particularly the short staff, scepter and wand, so it can take a long time to find any particular one.

what do you guys consider high mf percent? for a baba... i can reach about 500% using 2 gulls, chancies, tanc armor+ammy combo and 3socket helm with perfect mf gems... meaning hes mainly a popper... no high dmg there... should i ditch trying to get the highest percent and shoot mainly for high dmg with decent mf percent?... i do alot better with my necro (but maybe since he has a higher clvl)
also does clvl affect drops?
and would anyone trade me an ammy for mantle? USWest SC nL
thanks for all your insites. im starting to think that some characters just werent ment to find certain things... meaning when you create your char, youre destined to just not get a particular item. lol. ehh oh wells...
please keep the info coming!!

What you have is pretty much the highest MF you can get :
72 from 3 sock PTopaz mask or 50 from Tarn
40 from Chancies
30 from goldwrap
25 from boots
30 from nagel
30 from other nagel
78 from tanc amu when the armor is also worn
---
305 MF
Then you can still wear/use a mart and pop with gulls. Though in CS, you will simply be 'the BO machine' and prolly not use your mart at all.(also because that will get you killed)

also does clvl affect drops?
No, the drop from the monster depends upon the monster's level (which for NM and Hell is based upon the area level for normal monsters, with a boost for Champions and Uniques) and is preset for act bosses. The drop depends upon the player count (with more players in the game, and with more players partied and nearby, the chance of "NoDrop" goes down, so most monsters drop more items.) Other players who are not nearby and/or not partied count half, so having two players partied and next to each other when the monster dies is the same as having 3 players in the game who aren't partied or who are in different areas. That is, having 2 people in the game doesn't change any drops unless they are partied and together, but having 3 does. Here is a short table of equivalences:
Partied and nearby players Unpartied or distant players
1 1,2
2 3,4
3 5,6
4 7,8
5
6
7
8
Mixing and matching is possible. If you had a full game of 8 players all partied and 4 of them were standing around Diablo when he died, that would be the same as 4 + 4/2 = 6 players all partied standing around Diablo when he died for the purposes of item drop computations.
There is a good Item Generation Tutorial this Statistics Forum sticky thread (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=392254) which is too much to swallow all in one go, but there is a ton of useful information in there. Keep in mind that it is oriented towards LoD, but there are tables from the Classic forum stickies with affix levels (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=435372) and area levels (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?p=4040277)
