AFAIK, I've never seen cold mastery break an immunity and damage an enemy even with level 45 cold mastery and some facets. Anyone know if it actually *does* break immunity at all, or what?

Cold Mastery can't break immunities, only lower resist curse and conviction can.

Is there an amount in Cold Mastery when having more becomes largely pointless?

Everything above lvl 37 is completely useless in PvM.

Just keep in mind this. Enemy resist cannot get below -100. So, at lvl 17, a enemy with 0 cold resist will become -100, and anymore would be useless. At lvl 27, enemy with 50 resist will become -100, and etc. I don't know the resist of enemies offhand though, so I don't know what would be the point that -resist will become mostly useless. I do know that Meph has 75% cold resist, however.
