Finally got my hyrbid zon to the pit.
My current setup is:
kira's guardian
smoke cuirass
mav's belt
gore riders
laying of hands
angelics ammy
angelics ring
rare LL/resists ring
buriza (weapon switch 1)
titan's + pdiamond'd ward (wep switch 2)
I currently have pretty much no Mf gear, but I have a few valuables I could probably trade in for some decent stuff. What do you suggest that I keep/remove from this combat gear to get decent magic find (I'm not hoping for any more than 250) while keeping good survivability. I'd rather not die again

You can make a better armor then smoke. Duress/Lionheart are two just off the top of my head. Cheap and effective, I'll always be a big fan of Lionheart.
A better belt to provide you with a bit more safety. A string perhaps.
Dont need angelics. Don't expect you need AR for a zon especially once you get to hell and start using your LF and CS more often you wont need the AR boost from angelics. Get a +skills ammy with some stats/life/res
Ravenfrost is always a nice ring, or a dwarf, wisp
Buriza too slow IMO. I'd look for a faster one. With all the runewords nowadays you can find something better.

About the MF thing, running The Pit with the intent of magic finding is completely pointless at this point in the season. Even with a ton of MF, you'll rarely find any decent uniques/sets. The point of running The Pit is to find socketables. The economy is so messed up at this point that you can get a high rune for something as common as an eth Colossus Voulge. You'd be better of running as quickly as possible with killing gear and absolutely no MF.

Ok, thanks for the input guys. I never thought it would've been better to have no MF on. So just find big eth socketables to trade for HR's... Sounds good to me. Lesser chances of dying too, so I suppose it's all good.
Would you say I'll accumulate wealth faster this way or if I ran hell meph's with a sorc? I've never fancied playing these mf sorcs too much, and that was the main reason for building a pit runner.
Also, I was wondering if hell countess is worth running for runes these days? I found a few Hel's and Io's in nm when I ran her mainly for xp so I thought maybe in hell she could drop all the way to Um? Only killed her once so far and she dropped a Ral, but then how many times did I get El's and Eld's in NM? Can't count that far lol.
Oh, and I'll try to make a lionheart as soon as I have the missing Fal rune... Been having a nice 3os armor waiting for it on a mule for a few days now

You have a better chance of accumulating wealth by finding nice ethereal items (socketables) and or jewels/charms. Collect gems as they are easy to find and 3 perfect gems rerolls the mods on jewels/charms. So if you find a grand charm in hell with crappy mods. Roll it in your cube until its got good enough mods to use or even better mods that can trade.
A lightning skill grand charm will probably get you around 5-6 high runes for example.

To answer your question about Hell Countess, see the thread below. A couple years ago I documented 101 runs. Check it out and you tell me if it's worth it.

What realm are you playing? "Dream Realm"? You might get a HR in Europe right now for a clean Lightning Skiller, 3-4 for a +30 or better life. But yes, I agree, Mf is pointless at this time. Put on HighDamage killing gear and look for Sockatables, Runes, Charms and Gems.
Uhm actually if you use the trade site that almost everyone does now...which we cant post because its a rival site...well exp:
Light skiller = 70-80 fg.
any high rune = 10-15 fg.
this is easthcl.
Well, keep two things in mind with regard to MF:
1) MF has diminishing returns
2) Your gear has diminishing returns
So, getting a small amount of MF will give you a good return on your MF, and you won't sacrifice very much killing speed.
However, I'm not sure how much less important MF has become since the 1.11 patch. Killing faster will allow you to find more runes and having lower MF means you will find more socketables. But I would still think it makes sense to have about 100% MF and find Tal's Armor twice as often.
Getting a small amount of MF like that would be very easy too. You could start by using War Travs. It has MF, the lack of crit/CB/wounds will be somewhat offset by the 15-25 damage, and it has 10 vitality to boot!
Replace your belt with an upgraded Goldwrap and you could just leave it there for MF. You might even be killing a little faster with that attack speed than you would with your Mav's Belt, depending on what breakpoints you are at and how important run/walk is to your play style.
With this, you would sacrifice very little killing speed for some very effective, non-diminished MF.
Of course, this is under the assumption that MF is good to begin with. If I'm wrong here - and the advantage of finding more ethereal CV's does beat finding better colored items - then someone please correct me! =] I haven't played Diablo consistently since 1.09 and am still learning how stuff has changed.
about those countess runs.
if you got:
- Light skiller
- pcombat skiller
- shako
- wizzy
- a number of amn/sol runes
- various cheap items that people can use IE: ik boots
thats more than enough to motivate me to 101 runs. Iif you guaranteed me a light skiller, pcombat and a shako alone i'd do them. Tack on top that you lvled 7 times. Hardly a waste of time.

Even though spade already cleared this up.
I traded a light/+18 life for the equivalent of 10 HR's about 2 weeks ago.
Spade already explained the numbers for ya. Looks like Euro is full of penny pinchers ;)

Yeah, can't guarantee anything though. You could do those runs and have nothing but els, all luck of the dice.
Looking back it was worth it, but, it might not be worth it to dedicate yourself to doing just one thing like that. It burned me out pretty hard after doing nothing but that.
