Question About Equipment Appearance

Alright, I'm PRETTY sure that socketing Skulls into an armor will make it turn black.

But say I socket a skull into an armor I want to Runeword, then Cube the socket destruction recipe, and then do the runeword. Will the armor still be black, or will it change back to its base color as soon as I destroy the skull?

Whatever gem you put in your armor to color it, will be decolor'ed once you remove the gem.

Skulls make most items black, although there are some anomalies with Full Helms and their varients, and Crowns. I think they turn them black but the palatte shift is not noticeable.
