I was wondering if it would be worth it to get my Jalal's socketed and put something in it? I have a 38% ED jewel and some lower runes like Io and down. (I'm lvl 87 and thats the best I have?!?!?! hehe) What would be the best thing for me do, socket it with something I have or wait and try to get something better? Thanks.

you'll have to tell what build you are playing and some other stats, res/fhr/ed are some of the choises, but it's hard to tell without further info.

I'm playing a werewolf build. I have oak sage and carrion vine. Most of my gear is not the best, I have Jalas, Atma's Wail, Ik boots and gloves,Bonehew, verdungos, a nagel ring and a 15% mf ring lol. I traded my soj for dtorch.

Assuming you are playing PvM and you are aiming to do and survive well
in hell mode.

my first priority is always getting my resistance as high as possible, max it.
without resists you won't survive hell.

Atma's doesn't seem that good to me for some reasons.

It's useful if you attack fast, and IIRC wolf druids do :P

I'd put a perfect ruby in it. They're cheap and you'll notice the big boost in life if you're around a BO barb.

I'm with ayaueto on this one, if your resistances aren't maxed then use a charm/rune to accomplish this before you consider anything else.

It would be a shame to waste an Um if the %Def isn't high (150-170%). Rather stick a Ral, Tal, Thul, Ort, depending on your lack of resistance in a given element, it's a much cheaper alternative.

Concerning a PRuby in it, yes why not, especially if you're using Oak Sage  !

If you need more attack speed, a 15% IAS (with or without second mod) can be a nice choice too (make sure to check your IAS breakpoints before), or a SHAEL if you need to boost your FHR.

A sancuary could also be an option. ko runes are not that difficult to come by.

Do not know what the stats of that d torch where....but anything mid/low, and you overpayed big time.

SOJ - especially self found are 3-4 ist. For this my friend, you could have gotten yourself some nice sand boots and a pair of draculs gloves.

He was talking about the Armor, not the Amulet. Atma's Wail. And fyi it has no CTC anything on it, so a faster attack means squat with it.

Well, he stated that he has runes io and down at the moment and a 38%ed jewel.

My feeling is that you should have been more partial to your soj, as it is a very rare and valuable ring.

Concerning socketing your Jalal's now, I think it is worth it, from your options I would choose pruby or 38ed jewel. Remember that you can always destroy the gem/jewel later with the use of the horadric cube (requires hel rune + tp scroll) if you find something else.

But as others mentioned resists are very important, but for specific advice we would have to know your complete setup...

C'mon Frosty...you get brain freeze? :wink3: Off weapon IAS is useless for a Wolf.

Other suggestions are all good. It really depends on what you are lacking, but if you are two-handed, odds are you need more resists. In that case, the best option would be a res all jewel with a nifty 2nd mod.

Well, after a few days of playing I got a Shako and some other things and got a good mf streak. I got an soj and vamps in one run. I dug up a good 2 to shape shift with decent resists. Now in Hell I have no more negative resists and it is a big change. As for overpaying on the Dtorch, the soj was given to me by a guy from work who plays pretty much non-stop when he isn't working lol. Thanks for all the advice, btw I went with an Um in the Jalal's it's 45 to all now.

C'mon Frosty...you get brain freeze? :wink3: Off weapon IAS is useless for a Wolf.Read the original post again (post #1). He never speaks about a werewolf, so the answer has to be as general as possible. My answer was posted before rereading the whole thread and discovering post #3 ...
