It's early morning and your phone rings.
You hear an odd sounding voice telling you to go outside, when you get outside you discover a door standing there.
The door leads into the DII game itself, and it's a one way trip ... the only way back is to finish the game.
Do you step through knowing that you might not make it back?
Yes folks, you have a choice!
You can decide not to play this little game I have decided to run and not go through the door, but if you do decide to post in this thread than you have stepped through the door and are now inside the world of DII.
The rules for this thread:
If you do not want to play, do not post in this thread.
If you do post in this thread, you will find yourself standing in the Rogue Encampment with nothing but your clothes and your wits.
Each person posting has one turn (one turn is defined as one post).
When you take a turn and post, you may not post again until I do, when I post I will advance the story/game and may randomly kill someone off.
When I post things will happen in the game world, they may be good or bad.

Upon opening his eyes, after what seemed an incredible dream, ZygFryD finds himself in an rough encampment in the middle of the wilderness. Now he knows what he must do. Opening his hand, concentrating his forces, he images a being, and unnatural being, a living being composed from inanimate matter, a being of clay, and by closing his fist, he released his magic and where once only mock and earth stood a Clay Golem, his servant.

A mysterious door to another dimension! Of course I step in, can't let a chance to be part of something higher then the common life here pass me by.
Takes a look around inside to make sure everything is just as in the world of santuary I know so much about. Asks the rouges for lokal terrian information and if I can borrow a bow.

Hmmm thought I was supposed to arrive here naked? Why do I have this crappy short sword and shield that looks like a garbage can cover?
Strange, everyone here seems friendly but they seem to be implying I have to solve all there problems. Especially this woman Akara. She wants me to clear out some place called the den of evil. Whats in it for me?
And - how in the world am i gonna do that with this toothpick and garbage can lid?

OMG same here! Except my target is Charsi instead. Her voice is sooooo sweet. If everything fail, I would pursade her going into singing business and I be her manager.

.............................hours pass, I stagger out tired and a little dehydrated, but with two things to help me on my adventures that await:
Charsi's named Horadric Malus to get me started on my way, and her undying love for my Barbarian bald head, that i know shes had since back in the year of 1.09.
Now on to the blood moor, i need to find a well to replenish some fluids, and start stockin up on stamina potions..................
Everyone in town is dead.

Thyiad looks at the door for a moment. It definitely wasn't there the previous night. She knows that her fate is tied to that door. Be it good or bad, she cannot know yet.
A deep breath; think, it's a risk but the rewards could be many. But so could the risks. But the honour. The glory. The happy times with comrades. It is so tempting, and yet so scary at the same time.
"You've been scared before, push through it", she thinks.

I hate you! My only other motivation for saving Sanctuary is ruined (as I'm sure we're going to find poor Fara dead as well).
I cautiously approach Charsi's makeshift forge, looking for equipment that may help us on our journey.

I'm looking around the rogue encampment, when all of a sudden another person clad in all sorts of fancy armor apears out of nowhere. I try to start a conversation with him. However, he just asks me if I have hr. Upon my reply of "no", he starts screaming "Oh my God, you're a ^&$%ing noob!" over and over. I finally tire of the ranting, and tell him to shut up. Instantaneuously, he yells "pee-kay" a few times, and then just disappears. Moments later, another person appears out of nowhere, this time clad in less fancy armor, but some sort of armor nonetheless. I try to engage him in coversation, but before I can get a word out, he starts screaming "noob pee-kay" and laughs out loud a whole bunch. While I am still confused by the strange and childish behavior, he tells me that he has become hostile towards me, and stands just outside the gate of the Rogue Encampment. I don't like the way he has treated me, so I go to confront him. All of a sudden the world stands still, and I am on the ground dying. As I breathe my last last breats, he stands over my corpse gleefully proclaiming (while laughing out loud) "It was haxxxor time for you noob. Noob. Noob. Noob.". It is my last image before death.
*regrets steeping into the B.Net portal*

I run out of rogue encampment weary from the cronic smoke still buzzing in my head, after checking around, i am unable to find the source of this mysterious shaking. I grab a steak and go to bed.
The steak was poisioned.
Sleeksteve dies.
On his lifeless corpse is a sword, not id'd.

*Walks out his front door in the morning, and walks right through the other door, completely unaware*
Huh, that's odd. Walking around, MC slowly begins to realize what's happened to him. He walks over to the group of familiar looking people, and hears an annoying voice say "Time to die!" over and over again.
*Joins Kijya's party with a solid staff capped with iron on both ends. Apparently someone left it leaning against the fence.*
The other side of the door is a strange world. Thyiad arrives in a campsite of sorts. It is deserted of life, but the lifeless are all around. Hunters, blacksmiths, healers and charlatans all lie dead where they once plied their trade.
Thyiad steps cautiously around the camp, careful not to touch anything. There is no indication of how they met their fate. It's as if their life was extinguished by some invisible, powerful force.
She approaches the bridge that leads to wilderness outside of the camp. To one side is a near naked adventurer. His body poorly equipped except for a mysterious sword. Thyiad is unsure whether to take it, her own meagre equipment could do with some enhancement.
No, she decides. Theft from the dead is never acceptable. There is nothing for her in this lifeless camp. It is time to move on despite this persistant rain. On the bridge, she pauses briefly to admire the ripples on the river caused by the rain. Then she sighs, and moves onwards towards her fate.

I'll bag the ring ... considering the steak was tainted I think I'll have to pass on the brewsky. No redheads, no beer ... the future looks bleak. :cry:
*Grabs a sword, armor, sash and a shield from the scattered corpses and answers Kijya's call. (Apparantly Thyiad hasn't made her presence known yet).
A noise comes from ahead. A chattering sound. Squinting in the gloom, Thyiad notices a group of ... people all walking together. They disapear. It is then she notices the cave. Thyiad decides to skirt the river and make sure the area nearest the base camp was clear before proceeding to follow the group. Their noise should be easy to track at her leisure.

As SleekSteves soul floats slowly away, staring down at his lifeless body wishing he was more competent, he sees tyrael and is taken away to the land of uber pwnage where he pwns everything and is dead hapilly ever after.
Before the ragtag group of trapped adventurers gets to the cave, the area is enveloped by a thick fog, making it hard to see.
At most only the person nearest to you can be seen, albeit barely.
Some people notice a red portal not far from the cave, while the others only notice the entrance to said cave.
Thyiad of course, being further behind, does not see the group through the fog and is currently wandering lost.

Icome running back from the blood moor screaming, im on my way, my sack is filled with stamina potions, to see Charsi and the others dead. Weeping i rush back to the fields and join kijya's party, shouting to the rest im here to help avenge Charsi's death..........and whatever it is you guys are doin! "Dang this fog is thick where is everyone?"
Updates:
Everyone's first post from this point on in this thread ( new players comming in) are placed within the Rogue Camp.
They are (untill otherwise posted) cut off from the others that are already outside, and may experience something different on leaving the camp.
From this point on, people still alive may PM me if they have any ideas that they want to see happen in this thread.

A demonic-like fog decended with astonishing speed. Luckily Thyiad was still near the river leading to camp when it came down. She continues to clear that area slowly. There, the camp gates. Momentarily she debates returning inside. Why? There is nothing there for her. She follows the camp walls and slowly challenges the wandering creatures that besmirch this wilderness. The fog actually aids her; disgusing her presence untill she strikes. She finds a gateway to another area, but resists the temptation to move on. Slowly, she reminds herself. Clear all around; ensure your flank is safe. She hears the distant moan of a zombie and enters another battle.

Agree, and now that papajustify is here we shouldn't have to worry to much, 3 peaple should handle it fine. Throws a fireblast into the cave to make sure the coast is clear.

Enters the cave throwing some fireblasts to set of traps before I walk into them. Sees a group of fallen further in, and tells the other party members to be ready.

The group enters the cave and finds it to be a maze of tunnels, out of one tunnel runs windwingwind, now confuzed and quite mad and zombified from the toxin that is on the torch he/she is holding.
A fight ensues inside the cave.
several skeletons, horror mages and two balrogs show up during the commotion, and also attack .

He does however, see Thyiad stalking after the group.

Satisfied that the area nearer the camp was free from the foul demons that infested, Thyiad considered her next move. There was always the cave. And yet, the group who had entered, had not returned. It was either a very big cave, or some mishap had befallen then.
The was an entrance to a new field just beyond the horizon. She had seen it while skirting the perimeter of the Moor. Perhaps that would be a safer option than the dank cave. She strode on as darkness fell. The Plains were a good walk from her present location but now better equipped thanks to the fallen monsters, she felt ready to move forward.

Coming out of my stupor, I throw my staff up and block the hammer I threw at Kijya. Twirling around I thrust the butt of my staff into the creature's throat.
MC, being confused, throws a Hammer at Kijya.
Waah! *jumps too the side avoiding the hammer, but loses stun on the ph'ed monster for a moment, runs a few steps back and resumes stunning, and yells at MC to do it right*

After coming back from studying rigorously (in class), superman finds himself stranded behind. He quickly readies himself with a sword, shield, sash, helm, armor, boots, gloves, rings, and an amulet.
He goes outside of camp (not too far, for fear of dangerous *deadly* monsters), and trains on them.
He makes a fire and morsecodes the message "Where is everyone else?"
He then quickly scurries away from the fire, in fear of dangerous *deadly* monsters that may be attracted to the fire.
but remember, he keeps a close eye, for a friendly companion who may be wandering around like him.

Leegion walks through the portal. He somehow manages to be with everyone else. He think quietly to himself for a second, mutters a few words, and then an aura surrounds his body, empowering him. He spots a pair of gloves on the ground. They resembled the gloves of a Necromancer god, but he's not too sure.
PS: I'm going to be a Fireball Pally.
Comes across a door, set into... nothing, nothing the door is set into nothing... ARRRRRRGH, a door that leads to nowhere... why the hell would anyone ever step through a door when they have no idea where it leads?
Why has this door appeared? Who did it? Shouldn't the government be told? Is it a wormhole? Am I on drugs? WHO LEFT THESE BOTTLES FULL OF RED LIQUID LYING ALL OVER THE PLACE???

Dang, my barbarian nature, always rushing into things without thinking. Now im alone.
I start kicking and smashing open barrels to help find some better gear, killing evil skellies and zombies as they appear, With each twisting hallway and darkened corner my strength as well as my skill increases. I cant help wonder what will become of myself as well as my lost companions. Up ahead i see a strange light what could it be? I turn the corner and.....
Finally I've reached level 9! *hostiles Kijya* Now then... *Casts BoS* This is my time to strike, she is much too preoccupied stunning that monster to notice me....:evil:
After a full night of lvling with Mc we've finnaly reached lvl12, puts a signel point into each: CbS, WoF, Claw Block, CoS (yay!), gets hold of two claws of different base speed and uses dual equip speed bug to let me reach better speeds then with BoS alone, and gets ready for the idiot PKer who would kill another player in this world where we have to cooperate to survive ...:angry:
Still can't believe why the heck those guest monsters where in the den.

You should actually put /players 100 or something, since there is no limit to the number of players that can play this.

Adventurer Rytyj enters door, albeit too fast, and almosts burns himself on a nearby campfire. Looks around, noticing a scene of bloodshed, and a strange blue vortex swirling a few feet away, with the words "Blood Moor" above it.
Rytyj calls out to see if anyone responds.
In the meantime, he makes a skeletal friend out of the corpse of Gheed, pockets the surrounding gold (what's left of it) and plays a little football with his boney buddy for a bit. Adventuring and cleaning up the mess of rogues' bodies can wait...
Time to clean up a few loose ends:
Dredd
Dredd leaves town in search of Kashya's killer. Hearing the chaos comming from outside, Dredd avoids the Blood Moor entirely. Dredd makes his way across the Tamoe Highlands and into the Black Marsh, eventually he works his way all the way to the Cathedral and down into the Catacombs.
Papajustify
Papajustify exits the red portal and finds himself inside the Catacombs as well.
The Void Finds himself in town and quickle leaves with his shiny object. Once out in the Blood Moor, he ...

I invite everyone to party and then suggest we all head, down to kill Anduriel, In my red portal adventure i found a unique ring (unid) and a strange black potion. We as a party make it to the Catacombs level 4 when....

*tags along, after that incident with the mis thrown hammer Kijya must have whacked me in the head, and I don't remember much of anything.*
Having bemusedly examined my surroundings (it appears to be a small pikey camp filled with dead bodies, what am I doing in a Guy ritchie film?) I decide this is a dream and head towards what looks like a blue portal, maybe it will take me home..? Suddenly, my attention is distracted by *gasp* a sword... a real life sword, it is poking out one of the dead bodies and covered in gore... I pull it out and brandish it inexpertly, enjoying the heft and weight of it. The sword has a faint blue glow emanating from it and appears to be made of crystal, engraved with runes. I decide to take it with me, along with a rather dopey looking dog that appears to have survived the massacre, we head towards the blue portal again and just as im wondering why the dog squeaks as it walks, step through...

ZygFyrD enters the Blue Portal. When he gets there, he and his minions start slaughtering some unlucky zombies, fallen ones, and other wierd monsters.

The shiny object turns out to be a ring with a faint green glow.
After exiting the portal, the small groups finds Dredd ... currently fighting for his life against a twisted version of Andariel, there are green clouds of noxious fumes everywhere.
Unnoticed by the group, the sword found by spigot has one of its sockets missing a required rune!

I charge into the fray, and attempt to postion myself between andy and dredd. "dude you need a little help?",

I land two clean blows, with Charsi's malus, slightly knocking andy off balance.
"someone take out that firery caster over there thats resurrecting these little rasclas running around everywhere!"

I join papajustify in a weak attempt to help with my weak beginners sword (i'm a pala), hmm, my stock of potions seems to be dropping FAST wonder If i'll survive this...

A distraction would be very helpful.
*grabs a spear from a nearby corpse and dashes off to to the burning pyres behind the throne. Dumps equipment out of makeshift backpack, wraps the fabric around the head of the spear, and lights it on fire*
I gaze in horror at the scene before me, I am surrounded by what look like demons! I think about whether to run for it or not, but the realisation dawns on me that all I have ever really wanted is to be a hero... THIS IS MY CHANCE!!! There is a small group of brave people fighting a seven-foot poison-spewing demon ahead, I gird up my loins, and charge into the fray, brandishing my sword and loosing a yell! My little squeaky dog follows on my heels, growling and ready to fight with the best of them...

Leegion summons up his power and spews out Holy Bolts at Andy A shaman fires a fireball at him from behind, knocking Leegion over. Leegion composes himself, throws a bolt at the pest, and returns to his barrage on Andy.

*The battle against Andy continues with our heroes throwing everything they can at her. spigot rushes in and draws the attention of several vile looking demons as his little dog jumps up and attacks a fallen. Legiononeast's legion of undead warriors surround Andariel ad Dredd dashes out from behing a weapon rack with his homeade spear-contraption. Dredd lights his spear tip on fire and throws it at Andariel, while at the same time, ZyGfryD's minions rush in*
*Dredd's spead scores a hit on Andariels upper left shoulder and sets her aflame. The close quarteredness of the area sees Andy and her minions set ablaze in one spectacular inferno. In moments, there is nothing but a charre dmass of bones*

before entering the door, I put on my wizard robe and hat (ok, not really).
Upon entering the realm of d2, I somehow realize that a great evil has just been killed and can't go to act 2...
"Andy is dead! Weeeeeee!" ZygFryD revives a few more minions, then pillages all the bodies he can get his hands on and finds a unique ring.

The great demon andariel is dead. And I helped, a little bit, well, I say a little but, I more sort of charged screaming and tripped over my own feet, but still, I feel a glow of pride and look around at my battle-weary friends, covered in soot and gore, and feel a real sense of cameraderie... or maybe its just wind.
Everyone seems to be wearing much more armor than I am, even the dog has managed to find a little chain mail coat; I decide to call him wolfie, cos I'm a bit of a girl like that. I grab some chainmail for myself and a crappy helmet that looks like a waffle iron, and head back to the hippy camp through the portal, brandishing my sword and trying to feel scary...
Enters the door and talks to Akara for the first quest, then heads out to Blood Moor and kills some Fallen achieving to level 2, and makes haste to Den

"Dude..I have a horde of minions? I'm a paladin...Sick?" Leegion enters Act 2, wondering how he is both a necromancer and a paladin at once. "Whatever...it's a sick combination." Leegion puts on his Might Aura and sees that his minions are much stronger.
*declares everyone that died alive once again*
Act 2 starts tomorrow.

In his hazy state caused by the cannabis he just smoked RubenusPontius wanders off into the night, off to a coffeeshop to buy some more of these green herbs he's so fond of. Too late he realizes that his front door had changed drastically in appearance, and that a red portal had showed upon opening it...
As Rubenus looks around a little dazed and confused, wondering where the hell he is and how he's gotten here, ("hmm, that last joint I smoked seems to have been stronger than I suspected...") he notices a caravan that is about to journey to the west. "Hey, wait up," one of the caravan members shouts to the others, "someone else just arrived, he might want to join us..." And to Rubenus he shouts: "Hey! You there! We're about to head off to the west in persuit of some unknown evil. If you wish, you can join us. Or you can stay here in this ghosttown where death lurks in every corner..." "Err, sure I'll tag along," was Rubenus' startled reply, "but first, can any of you explain what the **** happened and where I am? It looks a lot like the rouge encampement from d2, exept that everybody's dead..." After some of the members of the caravan had explained to him what happened and one of them had given him a rusty sword and a breast plate with a huge crack on the back the group set off to the west towards Lut Gholein. Rubenus felt he was in for the biggest adventure he had ever experienced, and he wondered what would be waiting ahead of them in the deserts beyond Lut Gholein...
Joins the caravan heading East and hopes for some decent weather after having sat around in a damp field for the last couple of days waiting for Warriv to get his act together... or maybe it was everyone trying to head west that caused the delay!
