Well, this will be the first time I would make a Barb since the game came out, so I need some help:smiley: I am going to make a Pub BvC.
Since Zerkers are hard to come by now days, I was thinking about going sword mast. What would be the best sword to make Grief in? I am thinking about dmg, range, speed...
What weapon combo schould I go for? Or Weapon + sheild? Schould I aim for max block too?
As for gear, I was thinking:
CoA "BerBer"
"Enigma" Mp
Arachnid
2xRavens
Highlords wrath
Gore Riders or Tri/Dual Res boots with FHR
Draculs (I dont really know here)
And skills, Max BO, max WW, max Sword Mast and Nat Res and Increase speed after needs, right?
Is there anything I am missing? What do I need to keep in my stash?

Ah I dunno what the best sword choices would be, since Beast cannot be made in a sword. Berserker Axes are the best choice. Grief Berserker Axe + Beast Berserker Axe.
if u can afford a coa ber ber i cant see why u cant go griefz/beastz
dont bother with block u wont need it

For a BvC, you HAVE TO use axes. And why? Because there's no half-decent support runeword that you can put into SWORDS.
And skills, Max BO, max WW, max Sword Mast and Nat Res and Increase speed after needs, right?
Max bo, max ww, max axe mastery, 14-20 Leap, 5-6 Nat res, 6 Increased Speed, rest shout.

Ok, I will try to get Zerkers then. But doses the GriefZ HAVE to be 34% IAS to hit the last ww bp with Highlords?
Is Leap a secondary attack?
What are good alternatives for Zerkers?

Whirlwind is only affected by On-Weapon-IAS so IAS from gear has no effect. You need a Grief Zerker with 34 < IAS.

Grief with 34+ IAS will make you reach the last WW bp. But have in mind no other IAS than the IAS found on weapon matters.
Is Leap a secondary attack?
He means "Leap" not "Leap attack". It is used to stun/knockback opponents.
What are good alternatives for Zerkers?
Thers no such thing.

Ok, I have some of those items.
But what would the difference be if I made the Grief in a Naga? Bad idea? :rolleyes:

I got 2 Grief Ba now (Both over 34% IAS), I am going to trade one for a Beast, so that is taken care of.
But would Blood Fists not be a good choice? I tink I read that Life Tap doses not trigger during WW? :/
Why do I need so many points in Leap? What its it used for? I am still levleing him and trying to get the gear, so I have not had the chance to duel.
Btw; Any good hotkey setups?

You do not benefit from Bloodfists as much as you benefit from Draculs. You would need ~1700 physical damage added to BOTH of your axes to make sure that you have the SAME damage as you would have without Draculs. Which again is impossible.
Also, Dracul's add 15 STR, giving you +60 life. Yes, for life, Bloodfists would give up to +120, but that life is NOT needed. You also need to do damage. What's the point of having huge life if you do not damage? And vice versa also.

It will give you a knockback radius when used. Which helps you gain a namelock. And if you start saying how "easy it is to namelock people", try namelocking a 100% defensive 95% es max block orber without stunning her first.
Btw; Any good hotkey setups?
Anything that's close to a,s,d,f,g,q,w,e,r,z,x,c,v. I use a,s,d,f,g,q,e,r.
Dracs also has vital OW, and the lifetap can trigger when you shoot arrows
I'd use a 20 DR vamp gaze if you can't afford CoA
Also you'll probably using trang gloves if there are a lot of casters in your game
BvCs don't really need asdfzxcv hotkeys, but I find it easier. I use:
z=ww
x=leap
c=tele
v=guided arrow
a=conc
s=unsummon
F1=BC
F2=BO
F3=shout
F4=werebear

i dont see why everyone here has this vendetta against anything non-berzerker axe. i made a bvc once using a 395% edeath Colossus Sword and he did FINE.. (using arreats, nigma, pheonix/ss) i didnt need to spend my life on griefs/ coa etc...

If you have not realized, it's not about doing FINE, it's about doing DAMN GOOD.
Fine is not enough for 98% of the pro PvPers.
And your barbarian here lacks: dual-wielding, damage, life, damage reduce.

CoA 2 Soc seems to be a bit hard to get :rolleyes: Can I get a 1 Soc 15% DR with Ber? Will the difference be vital? I have a 19% DR Gaze, but Gaze lacks Res, FHR...
I want to do the best I can for the supplies I have:smiley:

a 1sock 15% should be fine aswell, but try to aim for a 2sock.

Yeah, I am aiming for a 2 Soc, but people seem to want 20 Ists, give or take, for them:undecided: And that is beyond my budget..
Btw; I did not wanna drop trade the torch, since I was afraid that B.Net was gonna eat it:rolleyes:

A 1 socketed Ber'ed one is the next best option.
Too bad that most of the pro people (mcm, morotsjos, blobs, luis) seem to think that a person who cannot afford even a 2 socket 15%/30% CoA should not even make a BvC... And even so blobs' strategies assumes quite a good level of skill. So to sum up: Godly items and very good skills.
As for the difference, the effective received damage will be ~25% less if you had a CoA with two Bers, so it can be QUITE of a difference.

Well, I have bought a 1 Soc 15% DR CoA, so that's what im gonna use at first hand, and maby over time I can upgrade to a 2 Soc 15% DR.
Now I only need a BeastZ, Anni and Arachnid, and maybe better Raven's.
What would be a good AR to aim for? And how much life schould I aim for?
And I have 409 stat points to spend, thats gonna be fun :grin: Click click click click...

In the reality, on BeastZ, only the STR matters. It HAS to be 36 or better.
As for Arachnid's, it can be of any quality, the small added defense is useless.
As for Ravens, try to hit 240-250/18-20.
What would be a good AR to aim for? And how much life schould I aim for?
At LEAST 9,000 with Pubsetup. A good amount would be 11,000 or 12,000, however do NOT sacrifice any extra life if you can already reach anything near the 10,000 mark. My BvC has 9,377 AR with pubsetup and he does darn well.
And I have 409 stat points to spend, thats gonna be fun :grin: Click click click click...
Or just hold whatever-that-button-was (alt or shift or whatever) and click on the stat you want to put them to, it will automatically put all of them to it.
However, going pure vitality as a first character might not be the best choice.

Wow! I am just about to buy a 26+ Str Beast:shocked:
Why is it that the str is so important? Because of CoA?

Bingo, Yatzy, checkmate, *clingcling* and whatsoever. Yes, you are correct.
Because of CoA. 138 + 36 = 174. See? And yes, you WILL want to do that, as it will later allow stuff like Duress/Fortitude + TGod's/whateverbelt + Draculs + CoA + Grief + Beast. And yes, that WILL be useful.

No. You will want to have 138 STR after:
Torch
Annihilus
Dracul's
TGod's
