Blizzard says nothing about it.
I searched this forum but found nothing.
Is the "+Damage" mod on Grief calculated as Weapon Base Damage?
If so, why it's not shown on weapon or in character page?

Buggy? I'm a little curious... What is it?

Buggy as in the character screen won't show the correct damage, since it's not displaying the grief damage there.

Nitpick: The LCS does show it, but applied after everything else.

Is the grief +damage supposed to be calculated this way (as weapon base damage), or is this a bug that they will fix with the next patch, meaning that they will become utterly useless for classes/builds like fury wolves or mastery barbarians?

I'd have to guess that it's the char. screen that is working improperly, not the way the damage is calculated and dealt.

I think you misunderstood RTB's statement.

He meant that the +damage on Grief is not multiplied by any of the mods in the Character Screen, even though it really IS multiplied.

And there's no bug in the way the +damage works, but in the way the Character Screen works.

And as far as I can remember, it's always been this way.

Validated :)

I did some test, quite disappointing though.
It shows that "+Damage" (that one on Grief) does NOT work on bows!!!
I made 2 bows:
1st: +350 Damage + ITD; 2nd: +350 Maximum Damage + ITD.
Then I strafe in "/players8" mode, The difference is huge!!!
The 2nd bow kills much faster than the 1st one!!!
In this case, the information in character screen is correct.
So, does it only work on melee weapon? What's blizzard's intend? Which one is buggy - the character screen or the inner calculation?

Besides being a bit curious why you'd want Grief in a missile weapon, I'm also not really surprised it doesn't work. The property existed in 1.09, but wasn't used because of such reasons. Though I consider its placement on 1.10 scepters intentional, it was still a buggy mod when they put it on those items. At least, the LCS side of it. Grief... problably just misses a % (property dmg vs property dmg%), and Blizz never admitted they made that mistake.

I don't mean Grief should be in a missile weapon, I just did some test (curse the curiousness:tongue:).
For those unique scepters, it's very strange that Blizzard says "The damages on these Scepters are correct despite the damage similarities or strangeness" but without any further explanation.
So finally I get the conclusion that it is buggy! I will stay away from such mod, and wait until the next patch.
