I used to play a while a go and had a lvl 86 sorc I think.... meteorb and wanna start a new char or start d2 again might I say for like the.... 6th time
and back then the meteorb was the main sorc or the most recommended. Is that still the case and is it still as viable as before if I wanted to start again? Or is there a new improved mf sorc now? cheers

Meteorb is still the standard. Blizzballer is equally effective though. Going straight blizzard works, but it kinda limited (good for some MF runs, bad for general questing).

i find however that the duel tree builds dont kill as fast or dont do enough damage to kill fast enough.

Depends on how well you kit them out and how well you play them.
On the flip side, single element builds will always slow down when facing monsters immune to their chosen element.

ahh i feel like reliving my old sorc so i'm making a new meteorb. Would full tals, War travs, chancies, ravenfrost ring x2 (switch to nagel at meph). ss and maybe maras ammy? Block sorc

You'll need either Magefist glove or 2x FCR rings to pass at least the 63 FCR breakpoint. I don't see Ravenfrost being any useful for a PVM sorc.

I don't recommend blocking, just because you can't use a spirit shield. It fits will full tal set so nicely. Ful Tal + magefists + P spirit = 105% FCR (breakpoint!). That still leaves both ring slots and boots open. Go with either nagels (for MF) or SOJ's (for skill and mana). War Trav's are still the best MF boots.

Can I get spirit on NL... I doubt i can so should i wait until next ladder season because I heard this ones going to end soon so i doubt that's enough time to get the spirit.

Well, all speculation about when this ladder season will end is just that - speculation.
You can't make your own spirit, but you may still be able to trade for one. Getting a 35% one is probably real expensive though. I'd still recommend trying to get a less than perfect one and adding in a 10% FCR ring. You can still hit the breakpoint.
@diablomaster - actually you very seldom use meteor - It's all about the fast cast fireballs. I'm guessing by "mepl" you meant meph. I can take down meph faster with my meteorb then I can with my blizzard sorc (my meteorb's equipment is probably better though). You get to the point where you don't even bother to static because your fireballs take his life down faster than static does.
There’s a lot more to run in this game then meph anyway. Overall a meterob can run more parts of the game quicker than a straight blizzard sorc. Now blizzballers are decent builds if you want to use blizzard. But you'll want a 2nd skill tree to deal with immunes if you are going to complete all the quests yourself. If are only interested in a cheap meph runner, then by all means go blizzard. You'll just be disappointed if you start trying to venture out into the rest of the game.
Don't take this the wrong way, but do you play in hell or nightmare? I'm open to new ideas, but all your advice is about 180 degrees backwards from the normal game play. I'm curious about your background and experience with this game. It would help if you could clearly and completely explain your ideas. Please learn to use proper spelling and punctuation. This isn't a cell phone chat room. You loose a lot of credibility when you post like that.
Would a Blizz/Meteor sorc work?
I'd like to be able to rush some friends of mine, and still run meph effectively...

yep. Blizzballer (blizzard and fireball) uses meteor too - as a synergy for fireball. There's a good blizzballer guide stickied in the sorc guide library. Its pretty equal to a meteorb - both are good builds.
