It says the cold duration for saphire gems are cumulative...

Does it means if i put 4 normal saphires ( 4-7 Cold Damage - 2.0 sec Duration ) weapons in a pike...i will get..

16-28 Cold damage ANDD target is ''frost'' for 8 seconds?

Yes that is true. Targets will be chilled for the sum of the duration from all the cold damage sources. However, remember that
1. cold duration is cut to 1/2 in Nightmare and 1/4 in Hell
2. some monsters have reduced chill duration
3. some monsters canīt be chilled at all (most of those are in Hell)

If he's putting 4 in a pike, it likely is a weapon for very early act 2 mercs. Pikes can get 6 sockets, however, so more damage is still possible.

More sockets have no effect on the level requirement, so you should still get a 6sox pike
