Frostzeal - Testladin Cant choose

Hi everyone,
This is my first post here so forgive me if im doing anything wrong :tongue:
I have searched through the pala forums but cant so far find nothing that would answer my question in a satisfactory way.
I want to make a new paladin (softcore) and i cant decide wich is best (dmg wise and overall): frost zealot or Testladin.
Plz help me out with ur opinion.
If someone know some numbers for the dmg plz post them here.
Again plz help me...ty.
Ps. My char will be mainly PvM.
ps2: I have read in a guide that for frost zealot u have to max zeal, while in the testladin guides zeal is only uped to 4 points... Can a freaze zealot also work with 4 points base on zeal?

I have built them both, and I maxed zeal with both builds, I value defense and chance to hit more than damage..

Tesladin has higher damage but frosty freezes everybody so its a bit safer, both can be very effective, question is just in equipment imo

Holy freeze damage:
Skill Level: 20
Radius: 16.6 yards
Cold Damage: 185-190 to your attack
Cold Damage: 37-38
Enemies slowed 54 percent

with resist cold maxed:
Radius: 16.6 yards
Cold Damage: 740-760 to your attack
Cold Damage: 148-152
Enemies slowed 54 percent

with resist cold and salvation maxed:
Radius: 16.6 yards
Cold Damage: 998-1025 to your attack
Cold Damage: 199-205
Enemies slowed 54 percent

Holy Shock damage:
Current Skill Level: 20
Radius: 16.6 yards
Lightning Damage: 1-936 to your attack
Lightning Damage: 1-156

with resist light maxed:
Radius: 16.6 yards
Lightning Damage: 1-3182 to your attack
Lightning Damage: 3-530

with resist light and salvation maxed:
Radius: 16.6 yards
Lightning Damage: 1-3931 to your attack
Lightning Damage: 4-655

They both sound pretty cool to me.....damn Why can't i make up my mind.
Itemwise: I am not rich so i wont be using expensive runewords, the expensivest item ill be using will be HoZ.
So I guess im still thinking about it........

holy freeze... and try and get crushing blow with your equipment.

if u were rich u could do both:

20 res lit
20 hf
20 res col

dream helm and shield.

I've wanted to make that build for some time now lol.

If you are rich might as well make an Auradin with Conviction... Dual Dream + HOJ + Dragon.

20 res lit
20 res fire
20 Conviction
rest Zeal, prereqs and Holy SHield.


as for the original topic, Tesladins have abit more power in the damage department and can kill none immunes much faster than cold (noticeable once you use Cresent Moon). Cold is safer if you cannot hope to obtain high defence stuff.

Yeah its shocking to me too to know how poor i am :(
My pally is now lvl 25 (ready for baalruns) and I still dont have HoZ.
Well maybe my HF will help me out with a nice rune :)

Guys thank you all for ur help, I have decided to make a Frosty first, see how it plays and sometime in the future ill make a tesladin.

Maybe you should hold off and make a simpler char like a Hammerdin or a Necro Fishy Summoner so that you can have a char that can solo the whole hell mode game with relatively cheap ghetto gears. Do some hell solo Baal mf runs and aquire some wealth so you can make something more complicated later.

Melee Paladin builds are spendy.

well he is already lvl 46, still no HoZ, but ready for nm balruns.
Im going to keep on lvling him and I'll see how it goes.
Im counting on luck from HF so i can buy some gear for my guy...if HF lets me down things are gonna become very complicated indeed.
