What to put in Arreat's?

Just a quick question, what should I put in my Arreat's Face? It's for a Whirlwind Dueler.

well it depends what your char is missing.

You ideally want an ed jewel with a secondary mod, ie if your struggling for dexterity put in an ed/dex jewel, need to hit the last ww bp? go for ias and so on...

unless of course your rich enough to put a ber or cham in there :)

Well I am gonna have a Ravenfrost, so a Cham would not be needed. On NL, a rich person does not have a Ber. I think I could just trade one SOJ for a Ber, while a 40/15 might cost two SOJs.

So is a Ber better than a 40/15 or a 40/9 Dexterity?

What's BP.

I will have a lot of enhanced damage, just got a perfect Beast. Gonna have an EBOTD Berserker as my other weapon.

Good ideas but just wanted to point out that WW speed only depends on the on-weapon IAS - so IAS from a jewel in arreats won't affect it.

It will affect berserk speed and widowmaker speed though.

I use Whirlwind, and my two weapons are Ebotd Berserker Axe and a Beast. So then, what socket? 40/9 Dexterity or a Ber? :undecided:

What to socket in arreat's? Simple: nothing. Drop it and use another helm. Arreat's makes your barbarian look like a parrot. Even for pvp there are alternatives to Arreat's.

Back in 1.09 I was using crown of thieves instead of Arreats and was doing just fine with it in pvp.

+150-200% Enhanced Defense (varies)
30% Faster Hit Recovery
20% Bonus To Attack Rating
+2 To Barbarian Skill Levels
3-6% Life Stolen Per Hit (varies)
All Resistances +30
+20 To Strength
+20 To Dexterity
+2 To Combat Skills (Barbarian Only)

every single mod here is useful for pvp, anything except an uber rare isn't going to be as good all round as arreats (and certainly not value for money imo)

If you that bothered about aesthetics then fair enough I guess.

Then why is CoA in the pubsetup and no Arreat's?

Because you need DR%.

And Arreat's should be socketed with a 40/9 ed/dex for all BvBs and some BvAs. BvCs should always use 40/15s ed/ias.

hmm well i didnt mention CoA 'cause its out of most peoples reach - on europe ladder anyway.

I was also replying to the poster who said arreats was no good (which i disagreed with) not saying arreats is the best for pvp but it is viable.

A 40 ed or 15 all res jewel with a good 2nd mod. (15 ias, 9 str or dex etc)

If you use widowmaker I'd go with a 40/15.

The Arreat's has much better stats, I like the boost to attack rating.

If not Arreat's, then what helmet? COA?

Oh, what if I put a Cham in the helmet and use both Angelic's Rings?
