View Full Version : How much FCR should I get on a pure lightning trapper? Also, an IAS question

My gear right now looks like this:
+2 Assn/+2 Lightning Sentry Greater Talon Shael/Shael
Shael Bartuc's (replacement until I can get a better claw)
Enigma Mage Plate
29% Mara's
Arachnind's Mesh
20 dex Ravenfrost/soj
Um'ed Shako
Magefist/Bloodfists (which do I use?)
Eth 15/11 Treks
Anni/Torch/(hopefully 6x FHR trap GCs and 3x Lifers)

I'm not entirely sure about how the IAS/Trap laying speed work. I read the sticky thread and it still doesn't make sense to me. Is all this IAS I have necessary? I know the fhr from bloodfists doesn't matter if I use 6x fhr gcs. Also, I definitely think I have too little FCR, should I change out Mara's and Shako for FCR modded items?

IAS makes Trap laying faster and FCR is needed for MB.

Ok, With those claws (2 x -30 base claws), you need a total of 42% IAS on the MAIN CLAW and gear combined.

As I can see you have 40% on one claw and 20% on the other, which means you haven't hit fastest trap laying.

65% is also optimum FCR for a claw/claw Trapsin, although I have seen one or 2 run a 102% FCR Setup.

So... it looks like I have to switch my gear around, then. Shako to a 2/20fcr circlet (socketed with resist/ias jewel), amulet to a +2 sin/5+% fcr amulet, and gloves to Magefist/Trang then?

Use Trangs, and get a 10 FCR ring, keep the Mara's, and get a 2/20 Circlet, yes.

Remove the shael from the Bartucs, replace the 2 shaels in the 4 LS claw with 2 x 15% IAS jewels with second mods, IAS jewel the 2/20 helm.
