Hey guys,

I'm in the process of making an HC WW Barb.

My biggest question is the choice of weapon.

Considering that I'm 100% untwinked I will need a weapon strategy that is easy and VERY affordable.

I was thinking going either swords or polearm.

Which weapon will yield the best ratio DAMAGE/SAFETY?

Again this is for Hardcore and on a budget (crappy uniques, rares and some cheap runewords, that sort of things...)

A shield nice even if you don't get max block, because it can potentially provide you with more resists than the rest of your gear combined.

Untwinked, I'd rather be able to give a decent polearm to my Merc than have to keep it for myself.

I guess I'll go Swords.

Like this I can either Dual wield them when it's "safe" or sword/shield when the situation is tight
