i am curious -- why are +15 max damage jewels so valuable? I just got a +35% damage jewel today -- wouldn't that be better?

a decent weapon has 100-200 damage, 150 average. 15 more would be +10% damage. If I added 35%, it would be 135-270, or 200 average damage. unless i'm douing the math wrong

With respect to low level dueling (LLD), people are searching for items that have a maximum of a level 18 requirement. At that level, +15 maxers are one of the better jewels to socket equipment with.

Generally speaking, your jewel is better then the one we are bidding on. The difference comes from the level requirement. ZY, Doomas and myself are bidding on the Jewel of Carnage (+15) because it can be used at level 18. The three of us are involved in LLD (Low Level Dueling) and the maximum level for that is 18. Jewels of Carnage are sought after because they will increase your damage more then ED jewels at this level. Until you have 100 damage, a jewel of carnage will do more then a 15%ed jewel. Your math is correct (I think), its just that we can't use such an item with these charicters. I would expect that once one of us bids enough of the higher jewel of carnage that there will also be a mini-war for the lesser of the two.
