I'm currently a lvl 85 fire/cold sorc with around + 10 to skills. I'm wondering if it would be worth a point in Enchant just to throw it on my Merc?

(I just found a unique with 23rd level enchant that I gave my 70+ Pally, and it really seems to do wonders, so I'm wondering if 11th level enchant would be sweet for my merc.)

I play pretty much untwinked, at least to the extent that I don't trade for items, so if I haven't found it I won't have it any time soon.

If you can find a Demon Limb to use on your merc, it'd be better than wasting one point. Unless you have multiple points to waste..

Well i would suggest that you do not invest 1pt in Enchant, but rather buy a 2socket grey staff in Act 1, that has +3 Enchant on it already. Then simply hunt for TIR + RAL at the Countess and make yourself the "Leaf" runword :)

"Leaf" runword:
Adds 5-30 Fire Damage
+3 To Fire Skills
+3 To Fire Bolt (Sorceress Only)
+3 To Inferno (Sorceress Only)
+3 To Warmth (Sorceress Only)
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
+ (2 Per Character Level) +2-198 To Defense (Based On Character Level)
Cold Resist +33%

This way you will have at least +6 Enchant and probably also a +9-10 Enchant with your other +skills.

I doubt that your Sorc has the STR to equip the "Demon Limb" you found and gave your Pally, so the Leaf runeword staff is your option of choice without investing a point. Simply put it in your weapon swap slot.

If your swap weapon slot is already occupied you might consider putting 1pt, but the added damage output might just not be that high to make 1pt seem worth it.

Thanks for the reply, this is a good idea as I really don't have points to waste. :} I may even have both of those runes already, I'm so used to NOT having the runes for the "great" rune words that I don't pay enough attention to things like Leaf and Rhyme which I can build.

I tried to use the Demon Limb on my Pally to enchant his merc but all it did was encant him. I notice that the spell says trageted character or minion but the spell on the Limb doesn't. Is that a limit on the Limb or am I just not targeting the minon correctly?

Your pally should be able to Enchant your merc with the charges on Demonlimb. Just set the charges to your right click button, hover your mouse pointer on the merc, and then click him once to Enchant him. Beware that it cost quite a bit to repair each charge. My Phoenix Striker 'sin uses it on switch, but I only Enchant her and not my merc as the repair cost can be prohibitive. I prefer to save the gold for gambling.

If you don't want to use gold to repair, then use an Ort rune.
