I made an Enchantress for a mule (pop into games and Enchant peeps, not really playable).

My latest Sorc experiment was a Hybrid sorc; basically, 20 to Orb, 20 to Cold Mastery, 8 to Lightning Mastery, 10 to Chain Lightning, and the rest of the points spread around. The Hybrid sorc failed (light damage too low).

I am lookin' into makin' a new Hybrid Sorc, but this time I want to combine Enchantress and something else.

I am definitely using:

20 Warmth
1 Fire Bolt
1 Fire Ball
20 Enchant
20 Fire Mastery
1 Telekinesis
1 Teleport
1 Frozen Armor

That leaves 45 points that I may spend as I wish. I would really appreciate any suggestions on how to spend those last 45 points. I would prefer being able to get power out of an element other than Fire so I can wield the mighty power of two elements. Thanks.

Depends whether your pvp or pvm. If you're pvm then meteor/fire ball and put 1 pt into static. If you're pvp try 20 orb and 17(after gear) cold mastery. You're right, it leaves 45 points, but I doubt your char will get to lvl 99, when you plan a char, just plan up to around lvl 85

PVM.

I always plan full builds and then leave the least useful skill for last.

In this case, however, I want this character to carry over to non ladder and I will definitely be building it up to 99 over time.

Any suggestions on using those 45 points for Cold or Lightning? Ideas?

I def. wouldn't spread from Enchant(fire) to Orb(cold) and then into Light as well. You really can't go tri-ele and be sucessful, not saying NOBODY can cause i'm sure there are a few good tri-ele's out there, its highly unlikely. Stick with one or two. If your gonna do enchant, are you gonna be melee? If not, I'm not really sure why you'd even do Chant unless you were just to help out friends, in which case I wouldn't max that and I'd go with like maxed orb/cold mastery and last points into ice bolt for synergy.

This is all IMO though...just some advice from a Duel-Dream Chantress ;o)

I might melee, but more than likely I would be a support caster. I would sacrifice some of my own power to boost other people.

Welllll.. An unconvential yet convential build could be using dream helm with 20 in LM to get insane Holy Shock damage, and then go for 20 in ThunderStorm and the rest in static or something. Increase the static range, have a high damage TS, ~1500 a pop (Low for Hell) but good for PVP. Running around with Holy Shock hitting as well as TS with a high chant? Nice dam I'd say. :)

Yeah, its quite fine actually. Like I said, I'm duel-dream sorc and its pretty fun. If i wanted to rush people in normal, my aura would kill everything for me pretty much lol. As rendo said, using like TS would be a good option just so you have damage of your own....

I was thinking it could be fun to make an ES chantress so take away the point in frozen armor and add 20 Telekinesis and 20 ES and make sure you have enough dex to max block you could have a very interesting build

Nah sorc is a major pain to fight offensively melee. I want something I can shoot.

I do not know about Thunderstorm... after all, I can not really aim it. I love the spell, I just like being able to actually direct my fire where I want it to go.

Any other ideas? The more options I have to consider, the better. (:

Thats how I'm going. I'm probably gonna end up using 'Beast' for the bear form and then go from there. I'm not using Frozen Armor then, I'm doing ES but 1 point there and max telekinesis with my last lvls. My AR is way to low atm though so I can't actually hit anything, lol. I'm using skills granted from items while lvling but when i get a good weapon and the rest of my gear, it'll be fun.

As for Ihmhi, thats the fun of a melee sorc is the challenge. Instead of playing the same old "cast and run" style, you get the power of a sorc with the brute power of a barb...its interesting, lol.

Since you only got 45 skillpoints left and you want another element the best option seems frozen orb. Orb also helps you meleewise with the slow from frozen.

If you would go double dream and use a convict merc, you could choose to not max warmth and go for another firespell. Then you have a melee lightning attack with half synergized enchant and a long range fire spell with good -res from mercs aura.

like for example:

20light mastery, 20 fire mastery, 20 enchant, 1 warmth, 20hydra, 20 fireball, 1 static, 1 tstorm. Done at lvl 97.

1k-1.5k hydra will be reached and combined with your mercs aura it does nice damage. you can cast a few hydra's, then go hit with your sword and rinse and repeat it.

I really wouldn't recommend fireball or any other type of attack that is linked to faster cast rate. You will have to sacrafice to much to reach a high fcr breakpoint or you will end up with a slow long range attack.
