*MF Sorc* Gear selection help.

I've completely stripped my old MF sorc to sell for gear for my Fury Druid. I'm estimating I'll have somewhere between 1 & 3 SoJs remaining after purchasing all my gear.

I was thinking a meteorb or CL/FO would be the best for running meph. Which one is the strongest build of the 2?

I didn't want to spend too much of my funds on my MF sorc, just enough to get her finding me sellable items.

For gear I was thinking:

Full Tal Rasha's Set
2 x Nagel Rings
Rare Tri-Res w/ MF
Chance Guard Chain Gloves
Rhyme Tower Shield

No Annihilius/No Torch

Whatever MF charms I pick up along the way.

Stats:

Strength for gear
Base Dexterity
Base Energy
Rest Vitality

I'm unsure of which trees I'll use.

Can anyone give me a layout of the proper skills for both CL/FO & Meteorb

I am checking guides as I type.

EDIT: Thinking of going max block with a whistan's guard, losing some resistances and MF for more survivability agains melee and ranged. worth it?

Pure Blizzsorcs for Meph, Blizzballer for MF'ing in level 85 areas. You're not going to use lightning or fire against Meph, and between FO and Blizzard, Blizzard will own Meph much better. Meph is big, and multiple Blizzard shards will hit him. FO takes aiming in order for the orb to explode inside of Meph, and the range is shorter.

I generally max block with Stormshield, or max vita with Moser's. Max blocking with Whitstan's may save you some stat points for vita, but unless you have max resists, those extra life points will be used up when you take elemental damage if you don't have max resists.

Hmm, if you want it cheap and you will just run Mephisto i would make a Blizzard Sorc with a sturdy merc to help you get to Hell Meph. Blizzard is powerful you will not require much expensive gear.

Loosing some MF for more surviveability is certainly recommendable.

If you want to MF other regions too, Meteorb or CL/FO will be better. Both are well balanced.

I'd recommend doing spirit shield instead though. I love the skills+fast cast+mana+resists. You can do tal orb/spirit as your main weapon, then just before you kill him switch to gull/rhyme.
