View Full Version : Flash Drive Info plz?

Would it be possible for me to play D2 off of a USB Flash Drive? or does it have to be installed directly onto the computer.. and If its possible to install it on a flash drive, how would I go about loading it so I can play the game? Or would it just be easier for me to move all of my 10 gigs to flash drive and just install d2 on the drive?

Well I believe the maximum space on a flash drive right now is 2 gigs, and you will also be missing registry entries if D2 is not installed on the computer, so I would say a definite no.

While it is most likely possible, it seems like a lot of work, and a lot of un-needed work as well.

You said in your other thread that you have 5gigs clear... that is lots. Installing D2 on a Flashdrive would be a pain in the aa-elbows... and you have 5 gigs clear.... so... why?

p.s. You can get 200 gig HD's for like $100 these days, can't you?

Flash drives get big. Pretty dang big. Consider that the iPod nano (flash technology) sports 4 gigs.

Eh. You don't need registry entries at all. Tried/tested/true. Copy/paste your diablo ii\ folder and you're pretty much set.

I am going to use the flash drives to save my music on, and then I will install D2 on the computer, seems much easier. So, as soon as I go buy a new game really quick I will probly be online! Who is up for some play! lolz I'll probly use my old account *kilmin but I'm sure my 93 sorc is expired and my mules are expired so of course I will restart, think I may make a pally or necro to start my char base off.

Everyone should start from scratch with me and trebbycakes on West. My ping is so bad I can't even Teleport with 105%FCR. :tongue:

East (rarely on these days, but might come back to finish a couple PvPers and finally make my 163/99 Windy):

Wow it looks like a lot of us are returning to the fold. I think my re-addiction is complete. Can't wait to get home from work every night to fire up the machine.

Got a guardian Necro and Hammer up to lvl 51. Lol just burned in a new mule.....again. 12yd CE FTW!!
