Anyone know what is the dominant PvP character nowadays? Plus, I want to build a PvP character that can kill Pker's. What do you think?

You'll need to be way more specific than that.

Are you talking about legit PKs? If so, I assume you mean low-level and mid-level PKs. Do you want to target people who terrorize Tristram runs? Sewer runs? Baal runs? If you still don't see what I'm getting at, a level range would be very helpful here.

If you're talking about TPPKs, I'm afriad you're S.O.L. unless you want to stoop to their level of lameness.

There is no dominant PvP characters. You have to specialize to a degree.

Since you'll probably be waiting for them at the wp there are two strong builds you can go for :


Whirl barb :
-Eth hone sudan with 3 sheals


Charge paladin :
-Biggest, meanest 2hander you can find.


Sit on the wp and wait for the hostile...they come down...bam. They're dead before they're done loading.


You don't need speed, they're coming to you.
You don't need a whole lot of life, they probably won't even hit you
You don't need to stick to a level, you can be sloppy with exp gains
You do need to do enough damage to kill them in 1 shot or two quick shots.

Level would be helpful.

Blizz Sorc, I say... high 30s (don't go past 41, as the possibility of skillers might scare some people off). PKers LOVE killing Sorcs. Show them a staff when you're in town, and people will be drooling to get at you.

I just have a real problem with being bullied in and out of public games. Do you have any advice for that? As far as levels go...I plan to play in hell for obvious reasons so that is where I would like to pk. I want to be an anti-pker. Thank you for all of your responses. Good luck to you all.

You're boned. You can't "anti pk" a tppker..and no one else bothers in hell games.

Sub 40's are the "pkk" level.


Necro's make a good choice as well, as you can make them look very vulnerable.

Yep, because only if you knowingly stoop to their level of lameness--then and only then--will you receive help from anyone here; thus no longer being S.O.L.

give up your dream of defending yourself pvp in the higher lvls. The only people you can pkk would be people like me who are trying to pk your lvl 25 with my lvl 12 or 15.

I tried fighting a 75 tppk sorc the other day who had an auto-tp hack when you came within 5 diablo yards of him. Some dueler that is. He can hit you from a range with his sorc but as soon as you get within melee distance, insta-town!

Worse yet, my challenge to these guys is always "make a low lvl dueler and i'll show you what a real duel is." Well today a lvl 15 pally hostiles me, I hit him twice and auto-tp to town! "May as well be chicken" i tells him. "cry more" he says.

Best part of the story, i finally convince him to duel a character where i have about a 90% chance to 1 hit ko this guy, and just as he runs out to duel the character....our friend JAFRICK tries to jump him with his 18 asn and scares the guy off. Missed tppk ear....BAD JAFFY BAD!

Ugh... I missed 4 pk kills today... tried to get em as they came out of Lut Gholein and the rogue encampment... freaking charged at a skeleton instead of the barb (necro was kinda far-- was a necro and barb in that game) ARGH!! Second game (A1), I had a horrible attempt at killing a barb leaving act 1 (another necro again-- fair out :() I don't know what happened, I just kinda went way to slow to get em.

Anyway, I'd say pvping at 30ish+ is usually these characters dominating:

Bone Necros (decked out/hit certain FC BPS)<=>Hammer>WW Barb>Charger (most of the time I see hammerdin's smacking chargers around)

30-40

speaking in ideal terms, that is a character that is the best of its build:

WW barb - Druid - Hammerdin/charger - Sorc - Necro

I pair hammerdin and charger because a Hammerdin can compete and beat most characters in the 30-40 range but has difficulty with a charger.

A good ww barb in the 30-40 range just doesn't lose. A good druid beats pretty much everything but ww barb. hammerdin does everything but a good druid/charger. Sorcs can be good but struggle with pallys and other fast moving builds. A good necro can beat any mediocre build but a good build of anything else will beat the necro.

With regard to pking, i dont know what lvl you are but if you pk in trist runs you can often hostile a guy running to trist....for whatever reason they dont go to town and will stay in stony for you to kill.

tomb runs are ideal, takes me 2 mins to find them and they always think they are hidden safe.

arcane runs and sewer runs are always sweet.

if you use a noko and or hotspurs enchant games are prime pickings.

any quest game is a game where people will be willing to risk death to get their quest.

Whatever Azaz says about dueling/pking is true and very useful/good info. Follow his word.

Built a pk or two with some of the advice he'd thrown out in various threads, they both worked majestically.
