I want to make a CL/FO sorc, but after trying the skill calcultor, it seems the damage only hits in the 1500 (doesnt seem like it cans hold its own on hell either, with their resistances and all) range for cl, while the assasins lighting traps hit the 2000 range for a lightning trapassin also they can put up multiple traps. Is something wrong? Or is assasin lightning traps superior to CL and Lightning?
Also, Since im not playing ladder, I dont have access to infinity, so what are my options for lowering their resists?
:sad2:

Sorceress's lightning skills are easily spammable and with high FCR, can exceed the damage of Assassin.
Did you account for +skills?

Also, I have to go into FO for Lightning immunes. Is there just no way of dealing with immunes since im not on ladder?

Without infinity, you really can't deal with the immunes. That's why double tree builds are popular. (They deal with the immunity by using a different attack)

1400-1500 with cl and lm maxed still seems a bit low for hell... Am I worrying to much or should I be ok?

remember you are also maxing out lightning so your damage will be higher and lightning and chain lightning will hit multiple targets as it pierces so in single player or low multiplayer games you should be fine.
for single monsters lightning should be used, but for large groups cl is more effective (unless they are standing in a line like in the maggot layer in which case again use lightning)

CL/FO might be a bit skill dependant, but if you are only on SP and keepy player count lower it should not be a problem, even at 8 players. Maybe you are a bit slower, but thats about it. There are far more vulnerable builds, like tri-elemtalists who do even less damage and they can make it through hell safe.
Don't forget that usually you will have cold and lightning damage to deal and only immunes to one of the trees will go down slower. You should have a Merc along to help out and that should do it and be nicely playable.
