Mana Leeching Problems...

I recently finished my 1pt Smiter Uber-Trist runner... only to find out that a 20lvl Zeal is not even needed and in fact Max Smite is better + defiance. I would really rather try out my 1pt Smiter in Uber-Trist since I already have him made. I am however having problems with some things. I've been zealing different enemies in hell and seeing if i can in fact survive and Zeal seems to be doing alright. The trouble is with Smite... when i use it i find that it works for a while but then i somehow die... my mana seems to go down as I am using it.. and i was wondering what kind of ring or w/e i need to replace my 2x Ravenfrost with. I know i shouldn't need 2 ravenfrost... and I know I probably need mana leech ring or a good dual-leech ring. Also let me know what you think of my updated gear as far as doing Uber-Trist is concerned...

Tal Rasha Mask
Archon Fortitude
Draculs
Waterwalks - Working on getting Goreriders, and will probably have by today
String of ears - Working on getting T-gods will have by today
Metalgrid - Avg. Resists 30+ i think or somewhere around that.
Troll Nest Sanctuary 60+ all resists
Grief PB
A couple life/ar sc's + a couple 10%'s to one res mod sc's

Let me know what you guys think/and what i should do about the Smite problem... Would it be best to make the 20ilvl Smiter?? or will I be ok in Uber-Trists with this one??

Smite doesnt leach mana,if you run out switch over to zeal.There's all the mana leach you need in the Tals helm your using.
You should do great in trist with the gear you have.I use the 1smite/zeal build and beat ubers yesterday for another torch.I zeal till liftap triggers then smite them to death.
The one thing that you are lacking in is crushing blow.Gores will be good maybe Guillames helm also in which case you'll want a mana leach ring.

In some situations, having a *little bit* of "XX damage goes to mana" is useful.

As mentioned by Jackson, the XX damage goes to mana works. Myself, whenever I run Uber Trist, I always have a row of blue pots handy, especially with Baal's mana burn.

It's just easier and faster smiting you don't hit constant enough to kill them as fast as smite.

Also with smite you single out the one enemy rather than hitting five consecutive.With life tap cast makes killing the uber bosses a piece of cake.

plus smite just feels way more satisfying when u kill the last uber than if u use another skill.

Your gear lacks the crushing blow required, try to get Guil face and Goreriders. As for mana leech, drop a raven for a simple mana leecher or manald heal. You will rarely need it anyway if u stack a column of mana pots.
