Newbie Paladin Questions

Hi all,

Im fairly new to D2 and not really up to speed with all the mechanics and such so I have a few questions. My paladin is going to be one of those 1 point smiters as from what I read is a very versatile character.

When I have Fanatism aura up and switch to smite how long will I have til the aura runs out. This is with 20 points in Fanatism. Spelling might be a little off on this.

Is it possible to make a 3 socket runeword using a piece of armor with 4 sockets? If so what happens to the 4th socket?

How fast can a 1 point smiter complete a Hell Baal run?

I had to read that twice to figure out what that meant. When using Smite assign it to the left side and run your aura on the right. This way you can play both at the same time.

Unfortunately no - minus to sockets isn't a feature in the game. You need to find or cube a 3 open socket armor to make your runeword.

What do you mean when you assign something to the left side while running an aura on the right side. Also how is this done.

OMG I am by far the biggest noobsauce there is. Ive been playing this game using only the right side. Didnt know you could have two sides going at once. :embarassed:

yep, with all paladins, assign your attack skill hotkeys to the left mouse button, and your aura hotkeys to the right mouse button. this means you'll have to shift-click to attack for pallys like hammerdins and such (which i hate personally, it feels so weird!).

Yes, pretty much following the 1 point smiters guide to the Ubers which is usually found on the front page of forums.

Ok I was gonna suggest max sacrifice and holy shield just to help with the build but I guess youve got all that.:point:Kind of hilarious that you didnt realise to use the aura on right attack.Think I recall doing that around six years ago:shocked:
