View Full Version : Do plus-skills increase Auras from items?

Folks, help me out with a really dumb question please:
Do plus-skills increase the effective level of Auras granted by items?
I ask because I've just gotten a Phoenix zerker with Level 10 Redemption. Level 10 isn't much... But if my plus-skills from gear (currently 9) would boost it to level 19, it would be a lot more useful.
Similarly, will the plus-1-to-skills given by Battle Command also temporarily increase the levels of auras granted by gear?
Thanks in advance.
no, +skills wont affect the aura granted by items such as phoenix.
bc also wont increase auras, they only increase the skills that u have put hard points into.

Gorash, thanks a lot for the help!
Hm, that's a bummer...
What would happen if I were to get a Phoenix shield (say, level 12 Redemption) too, and equip it along with my Phoenix zerker (level 10 Redemption)? Would they stack together for a level 22 Redemption? Or would the higher Redemption on the shield just cancel out the one on the axe, leaving me with only level 12?
Cheers.

i have honestly never tried this but from my experience there are items that grant other other auras and they do stack. here is an example.
dream helm and dream shield
dragon armor, hoj zerk / pb, and dragon shield
since these auras that they grant (holy shock and holy fire) do stack, i assume the same with the phoenix zerk and shield, however i might be wrong on this.

Heh heh, sounds like you've tried some fun gear combinations.
Okay! Well, maybe I'll try to trade for a Phoenix shield, and hope for stacked Redemption, if it works like the other auras do.
I'm not even playing a pally, to tell the truth. I'm thinking of dual Phoenix for my Trapper. Since traps leech neither life nor mana, she's got to find some way to replenish both bulbs, and is sick of using pots. So I'm thinking I'll put Phoenix zerker and shield on switch, and flash Redemption whenever I need to fill the bulbs...
Cheers.

i very seriously doubt you'd need two phoenix items to leech enough.

In all honesty if that is the main purpose of the item - don't trade for another to stack. The single item by itself is sufficient to regen you assuming there is enough bodies on the ground. For another 4 HRs it isn't worth it. I use the shield on my Java and never have to pot.

true, one phoenix is enough already. i like the idea of giving a phoenix eth ca to ur merc though for his leeching ^_^

Thanks for the feedback RE: using two Phoenixes or one, gentlemen. Saved me from certain overkill.

I use redemtion as a 1 point skill on my pallys as an after battle revive. I get around 5-9 with + skill items. as long as you can kill the room you should get back enough recovery to fill your bulbs. It also helps for monsters that revive if you can revive them first they cant be re-animated.
