Hey, I just found my diablo cd and got it to work after about 5 tries (it's really scratched), and it's kinda boring now after playing other games. I wanted to start a hardcore char but there's hardly any games. Ok so the question: What are some good classic hardcore builds, and/or does anyone actually play/want to play?

Welcome! Check out the build guides in the stickies. Safe builds for mostly solo play without steep gear requirements are your basic hammerdin, Blizzball sorc, Orb/Static sorc, LF zon, bone necro and maybe a Frost Zealot. For party play you've got single-tree sorcs, of course. You'll have better luck finding people to play if you mention the realm you're on. I haven't been on b.net much recently but I think things are somewhat quiet with many people expecting a ladder reset sometime soonish.
If you plan on playing by yourself for most of your time, I suggest either a hammerdin or a summon necro both of those should be able to see you through the end... the necro being a lot safer... though the hammerdin will have more uses once you get there.

Does anyone have a good classic hammerdin guide? I can't find any for classic that don't require you to be rich.
Honestly there's no guide required for a budget hammerdin, as even a poorly built hammerdin wearing no rares/uniques should do just fine in hell. Shard is obviously nice, but just max the right skills (conc, BH, vigor, blessed aim, need 1 in redemption and holy shield) and don't worry about the gear too much.
The LoD guide should be somewhat helpful since it mentions playstyle, etc
