Yeah well I admit I'm a necro nub. I canned my level 90 Trangs Psn Necro for a now level 81 Psn/Summon Necro and I'm just not having fun with him. I was thinking of making a Bone Necro for PvM and PvP, but mostly for doing runs and Baaling/Chaosing in PvM. I have the wealth to make a strong one, but I was just wondering from you experts on the build out there, how strong are they really in PvM? I know they are tanks in PvP but how strong are they just versus monsters? I would plan on Maxing all the Bone synergies and using Decrepify, or maybe Maxing all the synergies but one and max Skeleton warriors... which would be my best bet?
I also don't want to sound like one of those people looking for the best possible, strongest possible build either, but I just want something fun and viable in both aspects of the game.
Also, what kind of damage does Bone Spirit/Spear do at like level 35ish with synergies maxed?

A summoner necro would work very well as a rushing/ MFing/ PvM/ Uber character.

would, for example, maxing bone spear, spirit, prison, wall (leaving teeth at 1) and then maxing skeleton warrior work for pvm?? or is it all or nothing with the bone synergies?

I'd suggest reading the guide by dracoy...since it is what your looking for in this build.

yeah dracoy suggests using the marrowalk bug, but i think that doesn't work anymore. do i need to max skeleton mastery for them to be effective? should i just fully max bone synergies?

You don't need to have max mastery to have effective skeletons...though it does depend on how many +skills that you have to make up for it. Although the marrowalk bug doesn't work any more...it just means that you have to invest the 20 points into bone prison now...and at the cost of those extra points into bone spear like dracoy suggested in his guide.
Overall though...it will still be a viable build.

I will probably get a Might merc if I use summons, and a HF one if i just do bone synergies. The gear setup is eth infinity cryptic axe, eth 4k defense stone AP, and gaze with a 40/15 or ber, whichever i can find first
