question about HOZ

hi, this is my first post in these threads!!!

i was wondering, where would the best place be to find a HOZ. i have been looking for a long time by doing nightmare/hell mephisto but still can't find it. i am too poor to afford one either, so help would be appreciated. thank you

First and foremost, welcome to the forums.

Regarding your quest for a Herald of Zakarum, I'm afraid I have some discouraging words. While a HoZ is not in a high TC class (only TC 51 I believe), it is in a rather crowded TC class, making the base item, a Gilded Shield, drop less often. On top of that, a Gilded Shield is a class-specific item, making it drop even less often.

I always find it to be a bad idea to search for one specific item. You will just become more and more frustrated with each run because that one item does not show up.

Running Hell Mephisto or Baal is not a bad idea, as both can drop a HoZ, but they can also drop other useful items. If you already have a decent item base and aren't really after sets/uniques any more, running the pits and/or cows can yield some nice finds, mostly charms, jewels, socketables, and in the case of cows more so than the pits, runes. An ethereal, superior Zerker Axe with the right amount of sockets is probably worth more than most sets/uniques on b.net I'm willing to wager.
