View Full Version : Does Crushing Blow apply to skellies?
I hear people talking about how important CB is on som bosses.
I haven't played long enough to fully understand what it is entirely, but it gues it's something along the line of critical hitchance.
Anyway, I do understand that it's something you socket into your weapons, so my questions is this; does it then apply to my skellies, or do I have to run up and hit the mob for it to have any effect?

CB is like static (or Demi if you play FF, tee hee.)
It takes away a percentage on every hit, instead of doing double damage or damage over time like crit and openwounds.
The CB you wear doesn't work on your skeletons, but there are enemies (Urdar type) that have natural crushing blow.

You can always give your Mercenary Crushing Blow. And some people even have a Crushing Blow switch, putting on a Guillaume's Face and a Phase Blade with Bers and Shaels.
But, to be honest, you can get by without Crushing Blow. Decrepify and your Clay Golem, along with maybe a cold Necromage, slow bosses to a snail-like speed.

Yes, but who wants to w8 3min+ for baal to die?
Crushing blow finishes the job in less than 20 secs.
Actually, with my summoner, I can take down hell baal (solo) in less than 45 seconds.

If you have Enigma, you can teleport directly on to Baal. I've never timed it, but this is all I know: fast.
Just slap the helm from Orphan's Call onto your Mercenary and you're set, as far as Crushing Blow goes!
