bumping your thread aint a good idea since the mods might smite you for it, we have the edit button in the lower right corner incase you need to add anything. The abbrevation thread is just 1 thread above yours, here (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=127257).

cheers

Thanks for advice
I'm new here and I'm not used to these things. I have played Diablo II over one year in single player now I got internet connection and I discover the battlenet fun. I have some experience but when I found this forum I have got more experience during 3 days than I got during whole year. I'm so sorry because i have lot of staff as a single player but I can't use them in battlenet (I didn't know that before). Only problem is that I'm not native speaker and it takes me quite a lot time to read these things. And you are using very many abbreviations (not only about LOD) and it isn't easy to understand but this is my problem. In future I will try to read before when I ask (no need to look stupid)
cheers

no problem, I went from sp to bnet abit more then a year ago, and I remember how hard some of the abbrevations where, but as you start trading a bit you'll soon learn them as most are quite obvious from the original items name.

About stuff on sp vs stuff on bnet; you'll soon notice bnet is far faster for obtaining wealth then sp is. The cost is having to meet "the common bnetter", cheaters, spambots and the like.

a bit late but anyway: welcome to the forum

HoTo stands for Heart of the Oak.
Runeword usually found in a flail that gives +3 to skills

Grief is another runeword, probably the most popular weapon runeword.

Up' Hoz is a shield that has been upgraded with the following cube recipe :
1 Ko Rune + 1 Lem Rune + 1 Perfect Diamond + Exceptional Unique Armor

The Gilded shield become a Zakarum shield... More defense.

Hope that'll help.

You might get a bad roll, and it ends up with lower defense than the original gilded shield. Only more str req. :flowers:

Smiters upgrade the normal hoz for zakarum because it makes more dmg on smite. IIRC!
