wats with Phase Blades?

This is gonna sound dumb but it really left me in wonderment...

today during a hell baal run i saw a phase blade, so remembering all the times ive seen games called 5 os or 4 os pb ft etc, i decided hey might be worth something lemme see if it has those sockets, and lo and behold! it was a 5os pb...

so i finish the run and decide might as well get something out of it so i make a game 5os pb ft and almost instantly someone joins asking if i wanted a 20/15 b torch or a 16/15 d torch... i thought meh im making a barb sometime soon so ill take the b torch...

wat amazed me was how quickly somebody joined and how readily he offered up a torch which to me seemed pretty sweet... so my question is... what is it with a 5 os pb that only hits for 26-36 dmg that makes it worth so much?

is their an uber runeword u can make with it or wat?

To expand it a little further: phase blades are insanely fast, and since Grief adds damage directly to the base damage of the weapon instead of being % based, even the lowest damage weapon will become awesome once someone puts Grief in it.

One of the most popular runewords on ladder is Grief. It has a mod that adds a fixed level of physical damage (340-400) plus some other awesome mods. A phase blade is popular for it because of the speed. Berzerker axes are a bit more popular for the same runeword.

You did quite well, in my opinion. I don't think anybody got ripped off here. :cool:

the other good thing about phase blades is that they are indestrucible. makes a greif pb a great zealing weapon since you won't have to run to town every 5 min to repair.

indeed to get it you need to kill the ubers, im sure there is a guide somewhere around her so if ure interested in that just go look around till u find the guide...

you can get a torch for every class so u could get a +3 sorc skills
20 attributes
15 resisance etc for the other classes too...

and it isnt always 20/15 u get random numbers as high as 20 i think?

Hmm....depends of the realm. If it was in Europe then he got ripped of very hard. Barb torch cost arround Um to Mal, 5s Phases you can sell for Ist lightning fast. The same with 5s BA's.

This is sorta OT but I'm suprised at the differences in prices
On west 5s PBs are pul, while 5s BAs go for over 2 HRs

I think it is more or less like a boom in the realm. Some 2-3 weeks ago 5s BA's and PB's could get for Pul or Um.

Now everybody is stressed about ladder reset, making runeswords for non-ladder.
