A couple of questions

I have many different set items in my first run game Clvl:32, Quest: Betrayal of Harrogath, Act V. (Paladin.)

Will having items from one set influence the next set item drop, or will it be a random drop, no regard to set items you currently have?

I think I had a great sword called Executioner's Great Sword of Ages, but Executioner's I can't find the the Affixes archives. Was this in a previous patch?

I am currently using Bone Snap, the unique maul I picked up from Diablo. Larzuk was lame and only gave me one socket. Is the amount you get random? Or is the amount of sockets you get one, hands down?

1. Set drops are random, no matter what you have.

2. Lazruk gives all unique and rare items one socket. Magical items have a 50% chance of getting 2 sockets.

3. Are you sure it isn't just an executioner's sword?

For your second question, are you sure you weren't using an Executioner Sword with the "of Ages" magical suffix? You can see the sword on this page:

Unless it comes already socketed, which only some unique (gold-colored text) items do, uniques can only get a maximum of one socket from Larzuk. There is no other way to add sockets to unique items, and you cannot use the Shenk quest reward more than once on a single item.

Bonesnap is a nice weapon to start with, but the benefits of using a shield on a paladin are just too great to pass up. I recommend you get a one-handed weapon instead, and you can recieve a nice rare shield from completing the quest where you save Anya, in Act 5.

Skulls are gems and can be Amethyst, Topaz, Ruby, Emerald, Saphire, Diamond or Skull. It's random and it is also known fact that the item you need most is least likely to drop.

In my game experience skulls and diamonds are amongst the most rare drops, whereas the amethyst and ruby are the most common.

All the other gem types drop in equal amounts. SirDooFuss did some explaining of why, but the simple answer is "that's the way it's written up."
