Is there any legit player left?

I played clean single player before since I had no stable internet access. Then I got nice DLS and played at Battle.net for fun. Then I took a look at Map Hack, Bots and trading over d2jsp. Well, this way of playing has its limited fun indeed, but eventually I got bored of all this dirt and decided to start playing clean.

The only problem I have so far is that I am alone. Playing alone in Battle.net is not even 1% as enjoyable as playing with friends. I will try to convince my old friends to join me, however I doubt they will listen, it is too hard to leave their "My Precious" stuff: Enigmas, Annihiluses, Torches,... You know what I mean.

I am making a new account and start a new character today in Hardcore. Is there any hope to find anyone who shares similar ideas?

If you ask me what is exactly legit player, I thing it is player that don’t break game rules and don’t play with those how do. As far as I know (I may be wrong) this forum are against many Diablo II gameplay affecting techniques like Map Hack or Bots. However this forum still accepts lots of not so fair play things:
* Third party program for Single Player to manipulate items (ATMA)
* Game Mods to affect items in Single Player (Red Rune, RuneWords)
* Duped Runes (I saw many stated that they trade for high runes from unknown source)
* Items, found with a Bot or Map Hack (I saw many stated that they buy items from unknown source)

Check. But I don't play much atm :), and I'm on europe.

There are more legit players than you think, especially in the +20 category.

I consider myself legit. I don't use maphacks, I tried once however, but it took all the fun away. You could teleport anywhere in a matter of few seconds, and there really wasn't any challenge.

All my items and runes are legit too, 2 ists(HF) self-found on LoD, and 1 vex on HC LoD. Also I've gotten some items worth of an ist or so.

P.S oh and I didn't even play much more than for few weeks, the reason I consider myself very lucky.

Just look at Single Player Trading Forum and you'll see, that legit players exist, though they are in minority.

I use ATMA to store items I find and RuneWords Mode - both to be not equal, but at least closer to realms players. If there was a mod to get uber monsters (like Diablo Clone, Lilith and the rest) in SP I would definetly use it.

Anyways, I am just waiting for the new season. On realms I play 100% legit (muling is legit, isn't it? I don't use any third party programs for that)

Oh, and I play HC, which means... you know, what it means, if you play legit.

Never traded in public? Do you want to play together, then? I will get my new char to decent levels before, of cause. :)

They officially state that they didn't announce the ladder reset yet. I think it may take a while before it.

Actually I still hope to find someone to play on realm with. Team play is much more interesting for me than playing alone in SP.

My estimation for ladder reset is one or two months from now. Of course, there is no guarantee. Meanwhile SP is good enough to test new builds. I agree, to play in a company is *much* more fun.

I play multi realm... tried before east, west, europe, & now in asia.

I can't find where it says what realm you're on so if it missed it, ignore this. But if you're on East stop by op xbananax, there is an assortment of legit players going in and out of there fairly often.

You might have troubles finding someone who hasn't traded though. Don't be too picky about the legitamicy of friends or you could miss a really good person.

The only possible 'taint' accusation that could possibly be made in my direction is that I use large public games to level a char quickly, maybe with dupers etc. I do this to get to about level 45 ish and then leave the pubby games alone and play AB games, or with known fair players.

Just one other point - I use atma for single player, but for storage only. How can this program modify items ?

You are right, I should ether restrict my definition of legitimacy or play alone. :)
I think common knowledge says that legitimacy in a game is fallowing its rules, playing by the rules alone or playing with those who exactly follow the rules.

Trading is a whole different thing.

You mean that if I was playing 100% legal and, say for example, was lucky to find a SoJ somewhere, sold it for an item X from unknown source, then using item X is OK?

I wasn't sure where to start playing when I made the first post here. However I live in Europe continent and my friends are playing at Europe. So yesterday I have started a new character there. I have better ping, and, ..., you know, ... I love my friends, even if they cheat. :D I want to be able to enter their games for things other than playing together and giving items. We may show each other some stuff, discuss builds, chill chat, or something. I doubt that it is matters whether they use cheats or not if they only help me to hold game for muling and such. BTW, they were happy like children when they got my 5 old accounts, full with "spoiled" items. :D And I still hope that I have a chance to convince them to join the "Light Side of Force" if I could be successful enough without any cheats. :)

I think I should make at least level 80 character first to be potentially more valuable member of a community. Until that I would try to acquaint with people. :azn:

I played (key word) legit, I tried to trade to legit people, doesnt mean I didnt stumble onto a closet illegit occasionally btu I didint take trades that looked to good as they looked illegit!

i also wouldnt go so far as to judge people who trade freely......now if they are out there asking for obvious dupes....maybe. There are soo many dupes its hard to trade and be sure your are 100% legit and if you dont trade you might always be short of where you wnat to be.........its like in S2 I found like a bazillion Shakos.....I only needed a couple btu never found an Arreats or other items I may of wanted so I traded.......did they bot? Dupe?...IDK, but i traded with the people that traded on this site where they are "suppose" to be legit so at least i made the effort.

You want to make a cheat free winner build all you got to do is decide the class and ask this forum......they all know how to do it!
