Hi boys and girls.
I am glad u had a good laugh about my dilemma.lol.:azn: No,its not really a dilemma,just annoying.

Never had a problem,it started just recently.Hmmm.....
Thanks for the reply anyway.
Have a nice day.Rudi

Have a nice day.Rudi

I guess it's a problem with a faulty light switch and/or a poorly shielded cable television line. Hoewever, better ask a pro. I know where the business end of a screwdriver is, but apart from that I only have theoretical knowledge about the issue :azn:

BTW, you should have kept everything in a single thread. This second thread only leads to confusion.

I really didnt want to confuse anyone.I am not a good poster, but will learn.
What u said about asking professionals,hmm..I did.All I got was amused laughter.Noone has ever heard a thing like this.Makes me wonder what bad things I did in my previous life.Lol.
Thanks for ur kind words.Rudi:thumbsup:

A faulty light switch can produce a short flashing which generates electromagnetic radiation, inducing a current in the cable TV line which acts like an antenna if it's not shielded properly. If the faulty part of the TV line is rather near to the light switch, it might have a noticable effect. You can check this e.g. by placing a radio next to it. If you hear a cracking sound while you switch on the light, it's the light switch. The louder the cracking sound is, the worse. Nearly any mechanical light switch will produce such a sound, so compare it with other light switches before drawing any conclusions.

As I said, it's just a theory. Anyway, when the so-called pros are just laughing about the phenomen, they don't seem to know much about electromagnetism.

it seems, u know a little bit more about how to use a screwdriver.U are right about that cracking noise.Well, next time I go in town, will look for a proper Electrician.
Thank u very much.Have a nice day and a good night as well.Rudi.

I studied physics. That does not involve any practical experience with issues like these :azn: As I said, most mechanical lightswitches produces such a noise. The question is, will it be strong enough to disturb your cable TV line or any other electronic equipment ?

Of course, my advice came for free and thus without any warranty. So if they turn out to be nonsense and you talked the electrician into doing a lot of stupid things because of it, don't send the invoice to me :wink3:

there will be no invoice.:azn: Have contacted an electrician who will see me tomorrow.Hopefully,he can find something.Btw,would u know by chance what the timr difference is between US-east and Melbourne Australia?
Thanks again for ur messages.Nice talking to u.Have a good day.Rudi.
