I am not really new to the game but I supposed it has changed since I've last played it so I am posting here.

Any ways, I played the game from its launch until World of Warcraft was released. I am not bored of WoW so I am gonna try D2 again. So I have a few questions:

1. What has a better community of players, classic or LoD?
2. Does hardcore have a better economy than softcore?
3. What has a better economy (in terms of dupes/hacks), classic or LoD?
4. I know Bnet is a free service but has Blizz kept up on hacks and dupes?
5. When does the ladder reset?
6. What hacks should I look out for besides dupes? I don't want to create a hardcore char and then get 1 shotted by a lvl 10 char when I am lvl 50 or something.
7. I forgot, is 1024.x768 resolution only supported in LoD or is it classic too?

Thanks for your time!

Hah, interesting, you're at least the fourth person I meet today making their comeback, me included. Therefore, I am also interested in what you asked, especially 5.

Cheers!

I fear there's no answer to that question.

It's a bit like if you were asking : "when will the aliens reveal themselves"...

(oh wait, they already did... weird green creatures creeping all around the forums :badteeth: )

Generally, when you're playing hardcore, you'd want to either play solo, or with a group of trusted friends.

1 - if by better you mean bigger, more people play lod. More of everything, and the bigger resolution is pretty mandatory imo
2 - from the forum sections, hardcore alwyas has the smallest online
3 - probably classic, due to #1
4 - never played bnet, but the trading forums say the problem is endemic on open bent
5 - no one knows, blizzard keeps it a secret
6 - sorry, i don't know pvp
7 - only in lod

What when did LOD start supporting 1024x768?

I'd like to actually catch the ladder reset this year and restart too but you know blizzard has to be all clever and make it a surprise when the ladder resets, so when I remember about it it's like oh it's already been going for 6 months and has been duped, botted and destroyed already.
