Targeting with Volcano?

Hey all,

I've got a lvl 26 summoning fire druid. I was incredibly impressed with the damage from fissure in groups of enemies. However, I just got volcano a couple levels ago and I used it against Diablo. From my limited experience with the skill (not just based on Diablo) it seems pretty damn weak. I believe that this is because I do not know how to properly target a single, stationary enemy. I've read the guides in this forum, but I still can't quite get it.

So help me out. Is this an incredibly overrated skill for bosses, or I am just using it incorrectly? I realize that the casting druid isn't meant to be a fireball sorc, but I am playing this char because it seems to require a bit more skill with the casting.

If it's one enemy, namelock them. Since your cano is still at a really low level, the damage will suck for a while.

If you're facing a pile of enemies, usually a unique mixed with many minions, plant the volcano under the unique and run around in a circle so that the enemies keep trying to chase you, but just get hit by the volcano castoff.

This skill works wonders in PvP as well vs. casters if you build your druid for pvp.
