ED jewel question...

I got a 39% enhanced dmg jewel, if I socketed that into a weapon how does that work?
Would it add up like 39% more dmg to the weapon like say if the weapon had 184% ED? Or would it add onto the total dmg like 39% more to C screen?
Also do ED jewels work into armor or shields? And if the do how does that get added? Sorry for all questions but I dont wanna waste or screw anythign up. Thanks in advance :)

If you put the jewel into a weapon, the ED of the jewel just gets added to the ED of the weapon (ie. 300ED weapon with a 40 ED jewel now becomes a 340ED weapon).

Yes, ED% does work in off-weapon locations. In this event, they are added to other off-weapon ED%, which include those from skills such as Might, Fana, etc.

Off-weapon ED% increase the total weapon damage, after on-weapon ED% has already been calculated.
