Level up glitch?!

I've never seen this glitch before.. never even heard of it.
I Leveled 10 times (level 79-89) in one game..:shocked:
here's what happened: I went into a baal run game, at the throne we had killed the first 2 waves of monsters... then my internet lagged really bad and caused me to disconnect... 'your connection has been interrupted' it said.. so immediately i cursed at AOL for sucking so hardcore...when i re-entered battle.net my character was level 89 instead of 79 (yeah no friggen kidding...) all the unused stats and skills were there too... has this happened to anyone else before? message me if it has.

There was this other bug when I killed ancients and they dropped a perfect grief phase blade and an ap fort. It must have been my lucky day or something.

Easy explanation here folks. Ever see the movie: Memento? This guy is stuck in last month. Every day he'll play and gain levels and then come back and forget that he had played the previous day. In another 6 months we'll get a post here about him jumping 5 more levels (seemingly overnight).

Honestly, I don't find this incidence so unbelieveable. The OP did say very clearly that it was lag-induced. We all know that lag can cause all kind of weird things to happen: glitched item, duped item, rolled-back runewords, etc., so why can't a lag give some extra exp. All it takes is probably just flipping a bit in a packet, and you may get 100 times more exp than you should. The extra exp will give you several levels with all the stats and points unused, just like the OP described.
The key is that this cannot be repro'ed deterministically, so (I hope at least) it cannot be exploited like those duping methods. Instead of calling the OP liar, I'd rather think him as some very lucky player.

lol yea im sittin here lagugin so hard. But seriosly though lag can cause some wierd stuff. Once my friend found a bo syick and gave to me then after like 1 min the game lagged and we got kicked then when we came back my char didnt have the stick it was still on his.
