Deaths set.....Godly?

I've given up leveling my higher (70+) lvl chars as most people are saying that ladder is resetting soon. so i've taken up low lvl dueling. Ive created a bunch of chars, all pallies, who use virtually identical gear.(Angelics, deaths, cleglaws, etc.) Recently i've created a LLD charger, and found that i'm in need of another pair of deaths gloves. I figured i would overpay with a decent unique, and that acquiring a pair would take all of five minutes. Instead I meet ppl who reject offers such as twitch, nagel, sback, gtoes, etc. The latest person ive dealt with called me a noob and told me that deaths gloves are "godly" when paired with the belt. Ive never traded for deaths set before, my friends usually help with cheap gear like this, but is it really worth that much?

It is a good set but definately not worth much. They are kinda hard to find in hell though since they come from very low TC's. Thats probably why them ppl dont want to let them go for little; I actually traded sash + gloves for gull a couple days ago.
I suggest you mf rakanishu and bone ash in normal. You should be able to find them relatively quickly.

Back in 1.09 they used to go for a SoJ a piece. 1 SoJ for the gloves and 1 SoJ for the sash. This was far before the weekend of that public dupe mind you, when the price of SoJs had finally come back to a descent level after the previous dupe-surge.

These low level items seem to drop alot of the cow king if you run him with lots of mf, but unless you got the resources to run 2 chars at the same time it makes it difficult to do this run alot. When i was looking for gulls early this season i was not even picking up deaths sets (once i had a mule full of gloves and belts) similarly for tancreds boots, twitch, hsarus and other less useful uniques and sets.

I just put tons of MF on my orb sorc and found a normal cow game with a mule. Then when they would make i would go kill king and before no long deaths dropped. As to help repay them I killed all the cows... It took about 5 mins a run and I found 1 gull, 2 deaths gloves, 1 deaths belt in about 20 runs I would say.

How do you keep them away from your drop(s) though ?
First tele around and kill the king and then come back to tow them trough the rest of the cows ?

I just tele to king, usually they are to preocupied with the initial amount of cows to be able to follow

I got the deaths set after reading something about how it's good and it adds 30%ias, 15 all resist and 7 or 8% life leach. Is it worth having a belt that can't hold many pots for all of this? It seems good for only a llder.

Let's not forget it also gives Cannot be frozen. Any character which needs ias to survive simply cannot do without it.
For instance, (Frost/fire/lightning)Zealers, Frenzybarbs, Concbarbs, Javazons, Jabzons, bowzons.
And people that don't want to get frozen in a duel due to walking slow, about every dueler cept sorcs with tele and BvB's
The mods you mention are merely a bonus on top of the cbf that everybody uses it for.

This is before lad/NL existed, in an economy with a huge number of duped SOJs, and Bowazons were still great like they were before 1.10.

The main disadvantage of a Death's Belt: it's a 4-slot belt only.

There is no way to "Up" a Death's Belt to an Exceptional base item, even in vanilla D2X LoD (only for Uniques).
