When I install expansion, I get a message. It says that I have a bad data file and I should reinstall. I've tried reinstalling many times (to the point where I have memorized my keys), but I can't fix it. I've tried deleting old Diablo 2 files that get leftover and I've tried contacting tech support. No luck. They directed me to the support site solution number #277 and still nothing. These are the errors I get:
Halt
Location : , line #930
Expression : Unrecoverable internal error 6fe198a1
- I get this error when I create/join games.
This application has encountered a critical error:
The file data is corrupt.
Program: D:\Program Files\Diablo II\Game.exe
File: DATA\GLOBAL\UI\Panal\800BorderFrame.dc6
- I got this error when I clicked on a waypoint.
UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:
ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005)
- I get this error through regular gameplay. I think it happened when Baal was about to go in his chamber.
Halt
Location : , line #1646
Expression : Unrecoverable internal error 6fe2137c
- I get this error through regular gameplay. I think it happened when Baal was about to go in his chamber. I also received this message when I tried joining a game. Sometimes, I get this message a few seconds after I join a game. I get this one the most.
Halt
Location : , line #855
Expression : Unrecoverable internal error 6fe241fb
- I was teleporting through Chaos Sactuary and I get a Connection Interrupted message. Right after, I get this error.
My disks aren't the problem. I've tried reinstalling with different disks, but I still get the same result. Does this happen to anyone else?

You definitely aren't alone. People get error windows like this all the time.
The funny thing is that I never, ever get them unless I'm playing a ladder character.
I started getting the ''Expression : Unrecoverable internal error 6fe2137c'' errors day before yesterday... never before. strange.

Hey guys, in reply to Mystic Dragon, and all you others.
I have dealt with their Tech support - twice, and waited in line for up to 40 minutes to get a hold of some one. Yes. Indeed, I am running into these Error messages too. The Problem can be any where from something simple, to over a hundred possible areas that are doing this.
Perhaps a Over clocked Video card? Can you under clock it, for this game?
Try running your PC in Safe Mode, and Installing it. I did. And mine worked, for about 20 minutes, then later I ran it again, and it tossed me a Corrupt D2xMusic.MPQ file. Oh love it. Love it.
Have you considered, turning off your PC. Removing a Stick of Ram. Starting it up.. Swapping Stick 1, with removed stick 2 of ram.. Starting. Testing.. Then replacing Stick 1 into Stick 2's Slot.. And starting up your Machine with Both Sticks in the place. This can remove un wanted Static from Instrument Equipment, or Possibly a Large Stereo stystem. I got my corrupt Paladin to come back to life. He was getting HALT Error 63db304 whatever Error. Whenever he entered ANY REALM.
Any ways, This all started after it crashed me one night with my Sorc, after I solo killed Diablo with her. - Game Crashed due to D2Music.MPQ error. MAN I've re installed this game 6 times. And over and over it tosses me either a stupid computer error. ( ya right ) Or a Corrupt File Error ( ya right )
I do play Ladder characters. I'm just glad my Paladin works. I had the game running, a couple times, smoothly. ( even when I bought it new, for 8 days it ran smooth ) then stuff goes Whack, corrup[t, etc etc. I dunno what to do either. and Tech Helps. But damn. I just wanna play. And Instead I'm waiting waiting. If any of you have Tips, in your Efforts to Solve this. Please Post. a Reply. --- I signed up just to give you guys what I did, to make mine breath, at least for a couple hours, it did...
It seems, Under clocking my Video Card, will help, Next time ( I can't do that yet, I am not the one who over clocked it, sooo ) Because in Theory, my Over clock video card, might be burning up files. As they are loaded.. etc. Far fetched, I know, but worth a shot in trouble shooting this game. OK guys - Long thread huh? -- ( I strongly recommend removing the sticks of ram, if your Character is Stuck ) Defrag, Disk cleanup. System Repair.. Even Format your computer if you have all your Drivers and Updates. Well, I do not recommend that. But yeesh, I am ready to try any thing just to get to act5, w/o Crashing music error, or some stupid crap. -- Their are ways around these some what minor music errors. Like, not playing the music, or deleting the File entirely. It won't have music then. But damn, I am running into a LOT of NON STOP errors.. ( wish they would just correct all this ) Good luck guys. Toss me a Reply if you have any advice for these Halt Errors. Or my Corrupt File crap'age.

Ya, I deleted a file Just to Play for a brief moment, a D2xMusic.MPQ file, from the expantion, No Copy and Paste from CD doesn't solve it, it just reads it as Corrupt every time. Man this is sad, what a waste. Oh whoop, sorry.
I tested game last night, after Trouble Shooting with Tech all day it seemed.
And it seemed to work. My Paladin was un-frozen, Static Corruption ?
Game was.... running... Or so it seemed.
Then, I go into act4, with out Music.. To play. and Sure enough, Wham. HALT: Error 6b4ocb4 whatever ERror. Stupid crap, We know which one, right? I can't believe this ! my Only solution is to install on another computer. I'm really pissed. IF it does it on the other computer. I am going to be fresh out of ideas. I'm tired of these errors. Diablo 2 is a good game.. :( good luck. Mine is not working, again.

im having error problems to :(
Ok, I work in tech support, and there are three things I need all of you to do.
1. post your full system configurations (hardware and operating system), including any overclocking, BIOS mods etc. Please especially include what make of RAM you have and how long you've had it (if you know).
2. Can you post a full hijackthis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/%7Emerijn/programs.php#hijackthis)log. This will give me an idea of what processes/services you have running on your pc.
3. Can you give me an idea of roughly what you were doing with your computer just before you started getting these errors (you don't have to tell me exactly which porn star you were watching, jk )
