View Full Version : Annoyed w/ noobs in LLD
I recently made a LLD smiter, who has been able to beat almost anyone, although i haven't dueled anyone who is specced for dueling. Its been fun joining random dueling games and owning lvl 25+ chars with my lvl 18. Most of the people i deal with are great, except that there always seems to be some1 i can't stand. There are necros who stand in town, send there golem and curse me, even tho is does basically nothing, its annoying as hell. Then there are the noobs who run around and use pots constantly, no matter how many times i tell them to stop. And then there are the ones who call me a hacker, and bring there lvl 80 and basically ruin the game.
If theres any1 on USeast sccl that is somewhat serious about LLD, l'd like to duel u, and share some thoughts about making our chars better. Ownage26/Ownage27

If they keep potting when you ask them to stop, and you know they understand you (IE, they aren't 10 and they don't speak german) just NK them. It's not worth messing around.
Those necros will have to come out sometime to curse you. Put holyfreeze on, and maybe you can slow them enough to get a PK in.
I have to ask.
are you joining lld/duels games? or are you randomely talking trash, and hostiling people in quest/trade games?
I find the latter very much more annoying than any 9 year old noob could ever be...
that being said, I'm quite a bit older than the average D2 player (or poster here)

There is a solution to townnecro's, a TS sorc. I made one especially for the occasion. If needed I would get her to the LLD game and have her hostile those who townguard, turn on TS and the townguarding stops.
People who pot are easily resolved, make a charger, you just can't outpot a charge string in progress.
And about the level 80 chars, well, you could bring a higher level dueler of your own until that level 80 buggers off.
I'm just curious, why did you make your smiter level 18 ?
Alright to answer ur questions, i only join dueling games, and i dont pk in quest games. Although my smiter can consistently beat higher lvls, he relies mainly on crushing blow and open wounds for damage, so i cant kill ppl who pot, and i cant kill the necros fast enough. I made him lvl 18 because finding flawless rubies was taking forever, as was finding another 3 sock helm, when i already had a pruby'd helm. Being able to use holy freeze helps too.

I made my smiter level 16 and he also works quite well indeed unless they run, which they all do eventually.
Yeah, finding the flawless took a while, but I needed to anyway, cause the only prubies helm I had was in use.
indeed the holy freeze is a advantage I do not have. But I allways preferred as low as possible duelers. :)

Still havent found any1 worth dueling, all they do is pot and run and i cant do anything about it ><
Any1 know if smite would be effective at all at high lvl pvp? Low lvl dueling is getting kinda boring.

I had fun LLDing by having a team of level 35s that would duel any char in a game, even level 90+. Try to be that good, and it'll stay fun much longer.

By presuing it as actively as you are Dropship, you are actually growing a community of LLD, so keep it up and you'll have chalengers out the wazoo in no time. :)
The hard part is keeping it fun for fresh starters. You have to convience them that they too have a chance. Some LLD's are built purely on skills and don't require expensive items to empower them. That is the hardest point to get across.
With your charger that is a bit harder, but if they really suck badly, but don't run, you could let yourself get hit more often to make it more interesting for you and them. People that don't run to town have potential imho. I also saw you giving them some pointers, which means more incentive for them to also try to make some LLD's. gg. :)
I don't think that Archer chap would have gotten involved in LLD if you hadn't persuaded him.
It's SC, why do people run to town ? Well, in fear of people taking their money.
Only times I pick up other people's gold is when I think other people are going to steal it. Then I offer it back to them in town.
No real need to take gold from other players, since you can just keep a supply of gems on your char which you can sell when needed, or transfer some gold from another char, like a MF barb, they prolly gather lots of gold anyway.
In fact, I prefer to persue the purest form of LLD, no potions. No thawing, no anti-dote, no stamina, no mana and naturally no juv or health. This way you only need gold for repairs. It is offcourse much harder and so more chalenging, but trough that, also more rewarding imho. :)
