1000th post for 1000 baal runs

After the 1000 hell baal runs I did last time (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=464545), I wanted to do something different. So I tried 20-30 pit runs, and I was bored to death (I must be weird to say that 1000 baal runs are not boring:tongue:). In addition, it took me 5 minutes on average to do a complete clean of the two levels in pits, which is the same amount of time I need to do a solo baal run. When I finally decided to do another baal run just for fun, baal dropped me a BK ring, so that got me hooked up again and I did another 1000 runs (didn't find another BK though:wink3:).
There're few gear changes since the last runs. I found a Wisp from Nihlathak during key runs, which replaced a SoJ and made TGod obsolete. Now I can run around with full Tal set without switching to TGod for souls any more, saving me a lot of trouble. Another change is that I replaced the Oculus on switch with a 6BO CtA. The improvement of survivability is significant; I didn't die a single time in all 1000 runs (several near-death situations that would've killed me if I didn't use CtA). So my gears are as following:

As a summary, I use main weapons (full Tal set) to teleport to the throne, clean it and kill all baal's minions, with 448MF in total. I switch weapons right before I kill baal, and that gives 523MF in total.
I only recorded the items that I found from baal himself, without anything from the minions or other monsters in the throne. And I didn't record any failed unique/set items.

Among the 1000 runs, 249 runs ended up with no unique/set item. Among all the unique/set items, there're 264 distinctive unique items (excluding Gheed and Facet), and 103 distinctive set items.
There are 2 TC87 uniques dropped by baal, and 1 from the minions. In all 2000 runs I've done, I've found 6 TC87 uniques in total (from both baal and the minions); I think that frequency is not bad at all.

Few fun facts:
- The cursed green breastplate is unquestionably the most common set item, and its unique sibling is the most common unique one:smiley:.
- Baal only dropped 2 unique amulets in 1000 runs, and they're 900+ runs apart.
- There are no set items in TC60 and TC72 (I've never noticed that before).
- Not a single HR dropped in all my baal runs. The highest rune I've found in these runs are Pul; although I do have a lot of baal GC now:wink3:.
- Excluding cow king set, I still have 18 items that I have never found, all uniques, 14 in TC87.
- I'm No.103 on sorceress ladder now:grin:, still need 300-400 more runs to get to lvl97

I'm not sure your numbers are correct regarding MF. As soon as you go to switch, you lose the 65% bonus for the complete set, so that puts you at 383%MF. In addition, you lose another 30% from Lidless Eye, dropping you to 353%MF. Now add 30 (CtA) and 75 (Headhunter's Glory), and that puts you at 458! Only 10% more MF than with your normal gear on. Doesn't really seem worth it to me.

I think we can conclude the only thing baal runs are reliable for is Isenhart's breast plate... lol
