never played a amazon before so read a few guides and most of them got 20pts in charged strike,lightning fury,lightning strike and 17 in valkyrie. my question is if i really need charged strike and lightning strike at 20pts? from where im looking it looks like a waste to max out 2 mele lightning skills instead of go some doge and etc to survive easier in hardcore mode.

20 LF and CS is enough. You will still do a lot of damage per bolt (wioth lots of bolts using CS). Spend the points elsewhere.

CS is a great melee skill for taking on bosses, LF is much better on groups of baddies.
