Frenzy Breakpoint / Build Question

So I'm currently rebuilding my frenzy sword barb (chiefly PvM), and I've been crunching the numbers.

Currently my planned equipment is as follows:
Helm: Arreat's Face w/ Ber or 40/15
Weapon 1: eBOTDcb
Weapon 2: eDEATHcs
Gloves: Dracs
Armor: CoH Ap
Boots: Gore Riders
Belt: Verdungos
Amulet: Highlords
Rings: 2xRavens

Act 1 Merc with Faith

Which assuming the worst possible fanat level of 14 (12 Fanata, + 1 Skills, +1 BC), with Frenzy level 27 (+2 from CoH, +1 from Highlords, +3 from Torch, +1BC) I meet the 18 IAS bp which gives me a 5.5 frame attack. The next breakpoint is at 40, so I could swap out the Ber in the Arreat's for a 40/15 and switch the Verdungos for a Nos Coil.

I'm unsure if this would be worth it to gain the half frame. Comments? Suggestions?

i recommend Fort or Nigma,Coh just aint a barb armor.

Looks good overall. I would socket Arreats with a 40/15 and substitute Enigma for CoH, unless you find yourself lacking the resists.

Perhaps I should restate my question more clearly. With my current equipment I have a 5.5 frame attack. To achieve the 5 frame breakpoint I must use:
Helm: Arreats 40/15
Belt: Nos Coil

I was wondering if it was felt that the extra half frame of attack speed justified swapping out the Dungo's for Nos.

Actually, Chains of Honour :thumbsup: is a very good frenzy armor, since lower defence dosnt count much
+2 skills|8% DR|damage to demons and undead|8% life steal|healthy boost to strength|65% all res
Everything a sheildless frenzy barb needs, but Enigma :thumbsup: is supreme for frenzy

Looking over your weapons,
i was confused as to why you need additional ias when you have uber amounts from botd and fanta,
but then i spotted edeathcs
Collossal Sword is a little slower than Collossal Blade (+10 and +5) but surely fanata will solve that very quickly.
Mind you i havent looked at the calculator for a month or so.
40|15 in Arreats is still the best way to go, and has a higher trade value down the track, than ber. (but ber is still a nice option)

Dont forget you get +4 to frenzy with Arreats, so you should be looking at 31 to frenzy +1 with anni charm
Are you counting the 20% ias from Hi Lords? Surely with lvl 12 fanat youll hit 5fpa

Ok, I checked out the speed calcu, your hitting MAX speed 5fpa and 5aps (5 frames per attack and 5 attacks per second)
I think your botd ias on the calculator reset itself to 0, so try it again, youll get max frames.
On this note, an Ohm rune could be the go (+50% damage)
or even a pul rune (+75% damage to Demons and +100 attack rating to demons)
You DONT need anymore ias. Thought that was a bit weird when i first read your post yesterday.

(its all very technical, to be honest)
Once i know for SURE, ill post up an ultima frenzy barb guide, revealing what REALLY is needed for frenzy to totally smack the crap out of anything, and why

I made a CoH as I had a 12 ed 40s Archon handy, once I track down a good base armor I'll build an Enigma so that I can see which works best for my playstyle.

Right you are, I had reset it after the first two resets, but missed any later ones. Strange how I managed to do that on two seperate occasions. :embarassed:

Now I guess the decision becomes Ohm or Ber in the Arreats.

Well.. that's pretty kickass equip. I myself am using a 'crescent moon' and lowish 'oath' and can still kill stuff. So I guess it doesn't matter much what you wear.

Still, I'd go for 5 frame swings because speedy swings are very enjoyable :)
