Pit running question

i know that a lot of the best items can drop in the pits, but do you pit runners kill every monster or do you just look for the unique monsters? also i just found a large charm from the chest in pit lvl2, wat would the ilvl be of it? and is it worth rolling?

Personally I go for the bosses/champions and once they are dead I start over. The key is to kill as many monsters effectivly and as the drops of the bosses etc are higher I do them more often then to spend time killing them all of. But if you kill really quickly you might as well go for them all.

More monsters = more drops = more exp

I would clear every possible level 87 area, focusing on the bosses and champions. Hit every chest and barrel and coffin you can too.

If you can handle it, make or join games with 5 or more players. More monsters will spawn and more items will drop. You can find the level listing here (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=218836).

I kill everything in the Pits. The monsters there are relatively weak, so it doesn't take long to dispatch them.

What to kill depends on your needs, if you want Unique and Set items the best is to kill just the champs/unique monsters. If you want socketed items (which is often worth more than most unique) kill everything with as little MF as possible.

Don't ever consider wasting Pgems on rerolling Large Charms.

I usually kill everything. You can find useful items (with and without sockets) for high end runewords... :)

But be ready to get depressed, as it can get frustrating with the absence of any rewards...

Yea, it might get boring at times, but if you dont die while running at all or very little, you get some sweet experience.

ya, im getting a bit frustraded, my best find has been a 3os mage plate and im running it with 650 mf+

i got a windforce of a delvkin none elite so its worth just killing everything ony our way to level 2 I think, not nescerally every monster but everything that gets in your way. Try ancient tunnel aswell

I kill everathing in there. As I'm doing pits with my strafer, I won't have much of a choice anyway because the arrows distribute on all enemies. I press the button until everything is dead :azn:

this ladder, for the short period that i played, i found a 924 def tals plate and a 8% WF from the pits. not to mention countless socketables (eth 4os elite polearms)

I usually get only crap from the pit. Only once, on the way back to exit, I killed the 2 last little monsters in the pits, I got a 15 edef /14 edur dusk 3soc (Sold SoJ here on NL) and a jewel 30% ed / 8 dex (sold Ber on NL here). In 2 years game, these were 2 of the so rare nice items I got from drop. Since then crap, crap crap. But I still continue running.

Best things i found in pit include: 9% 5os Zerker Axe, Reaper's Toll, Viper. It definitely can get depressing at times. Especially when you get a Unique Kite Shield or something and realize it could have been a Corona instead.

Everything I'm gaining from pits now (did 20 this morning) is exp. :-\

I really hope I'll get an eth 4os CA asap though, I can't wait for my Infinity...! :D (I don't want to throw away one of the 4 hrs for the weapon, lol)
