http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Then the FAQs at the top of the board can help you.

Btw, that was written for programming boards, but most of the concepts can be carried on here.. such as a decent title for the post, using google and searching the board.

Sorry, we don't do mod support here at the SPF. You'll have to look elsewhere (http://phrozenkeep.it-point.com/) for assistance. Good luck!

I did answer your question and I wasn't being mean about it at all, if you read the FAQs at the top you would know what Nebux just said.

Peoples laziness about reading FAQs astounds me sometimes.

how can you have download links of the mods in the faqs where i got them on spf but not have mod support? common sense anyone? guess not. also considering most of the people on this forum probably use these mdos i was kind of thinking they might have any idea of how they got them to work for themselves. you people attack me because i ask for help. nice job with that. you people say how you quit multiplayer because of people who are bad mannered but you seem to be just the same here. thanks for your help...

You need to understand that the history of this forum with mods is complicated. It's only been a little over a year since the SPF became "mod friendly." This was one of the last SP forums to become toleratant to mods. It's important that this forum does not become just a forum for the technical support of mods. Not everyone wants to play mods, and it would be unfair to them to drown out the forum in techinal support and development threads from mods. The Phrozen Keep is dedicated to mods, and serves that purpose much better anyhow.

Of course, most of what I just said is in the FAQ that you got those links from. :wink3:

There was a time when NO mod was accepted here. But RRM and RWM have come to be more accepted along with some other mods. These mods are accepted here to be used. It is often pointed out that if you are having issues with these mods, then take it to Phrozen Keep, since that is what they do. We here at SPF do not want the types of posts that populate Phrozen Keep since not all the players here mod. Filtering through the posts of please help me with X mod doesn't sound fun to me.

Then again if you don't like it, the door is in the upper right hand corner (windows/linux/mac) or upper right corner ( Mac os 9).

Hey Tod, let it go ok? You do seem a bit cranky today anyway... :wink3:

@ pretendbaloon - a bit of advice: walk away from the computer before you get yourself banned.

Sorry AE... this guy tripped a nerve. Has been a long day. Across most of the forums I there has been a rash of people with poor thread titles and not reading the faqs or hitting up google at all.

@pretendballoon: I am with AE.. I too should have walked away.

Todesritter and Pretendballon: You both need to watch the attacks on your fellow forumites. I had to delete posts by both of you in this thread. Consider this an official warning to keep your tempers in check.

Pretendballon: AE had some good advice. Take a little break from posting here and spend some time with the FAQs.

Todesritter: Posting a link on how to ask questions and not actually addressing the original questions is not going to put people in a receptive mood for constructive conversation, and your further responses escallated the situation. If you are tired of answering the same questions, just skip the thread. :wink3:

The question has been answered, so this thread will be locked.

Now that the squid has receded a bit, I have been able to review the situation a little more carefully. Both Todesritter and Pretendballon went over the line with their posts. Both of you have been given a 2-day temp ban. Don't make new accounts in the meantime or it will become perminant.
