Why do so many people believe that?
It's not even that good of a rumor x.x
My theory is that those people who believe this do NOT know about the bugged exp of the 2nd wawe of minions that happens when 8 players share that exp.
FYI if 8 players share that exp, they will recieve only 1 exp per monster.
No, I have no idea what causes it, but I know that it does not bug if one or more people are unpartied OR somewhere else (that means not gaining exp from them) or the party is less than 8.

really? I've been in a lot of 8player games and my xp gain from the 2nd wave has always been correct.
maybe they should ban Tomb Reaver users as those skellis leech the exp.

Ehh... they may do just that :p I'm unsure if they count as *your* minions, and if they don't, you'd get no exp from their kills :p

i was in a game last week where a kid said the same thing about bilzzard :rolleyes:
the thing with meteor has 2 parts to it.
1. the fire from meteor will lag most people with dialup or a slow pc. so using FB if games and not meteor will help them.
2. its fire attack often gets the last hit on monsters so it counts as the killing blow. the person that gets the last hit gets more exp. so the over powered hammerdin in the game didnt get the most exp they could have :grin:
most of it just comes down to how well the people in the party can coop.
does the sorc have a point in SF to use vs baal
does the necro have a point in amp or a wand with lower resist on it to cast
does the necro need a full army or can they just use a golem
does the barb give people BO
do everyone else reset a high lev BO with a low lev BO :shocked:
and so on and so on.....
if you have meteor use it but if you lag others try using FB. if you get sick of what the others are saying squelch them :wink3:

the person that gets the last hit gets more exp.
I remember Turbulent Turtle saying sometime this week that the last person to get the hit doesn't get anymore experience.
Hit me in the face if I imagined it, but it was in another 'Does meteor steal exp' thread.
Neutral players may form a Party together. Party members share equally in gold and in proportion to their levels in experience points (with a small bonus to the player who delivers the killing blow)
Don't know where I got "10%" from but here's the source of the xp bonus for kill. Clearly stated in it, the same lines can be found in the xreadme.htm (readme from xp pack).

Yeah, those readme files are most likely really outdated too, so I don't think there's any xp bonus anymore. But it could be because of this the meteor rumor started, some palas wanted kill for themself :cloud9:

Oh ans @ Mowgly, I just always leave the game if anyone starts rumaging around near the king. Are you sure its ok if they've already killed king before? That doesn't make much sense to me, seeing as you still get every other quest like thing in the game even if the person doing it for you had already done it. Why would king be any different?

I did not believe it, but asked a little while ago because when leveling my first ever metorb sorc every second game people started screaming "NO METERO NOOD!!!!111uno"
So I asked just to make sure.
Now I just squelch.
