View Full Version : gambling for level 30 and below?
ive read a lot of different numbers and theyve all made my head hurt .. literally. is there anyone that can provide a quick answer? i'm trying to get level 30 and below amulets by gambling them. what is the character level I should use to ensure they are below 30? i have read somewhere (i believe it comes out) that you have to be level 25, but then ive also heard 4 levels above the level youre trying to gamble. sorry if thats confusing... just trying to get some nice LLD ammys without going over level 30.

If you want an item level 30 amulet or below, then character level should not be above 25.
If you want a required level 30 or lower (which I assume you do, since you mention dueling), itīs different. Required level depends on the affixes on the amulet. Prismatic (which has alvl=42) requires level 31 to use. To ensure you donīt get that, clvl needs to be 36 or lower.

No, to ensure that you don't get an affix with alvl 42 when gambling, you need to be lvl 37. (gambling gives ilvl = clvl +4/-5 and amulets are qlvl 1 and magic level 0). However, to be able to spawn +2 skill tree (affix lvl 40 IIRC) you'd need ilvl 40+ amulets. When gambling at lvl 37, only 20% of your gambles will be high enough to get +2 skill tree.
If I were you, I'd get to lvl 45, and start gambling to ensure you can get the +2 skill tree ones on any gamble, and don't care about the occational lvl31to_use prismatic ones, since if they're any good, they still have trade value.
I'm still lost lol, ya'll had it set in my head at 25 ... then came all the numbers and formula. Made my eyes roll into each other, then start spinning in opposite directions. I'm not too keen on iLevel, qLevel, cLevel, aLevel, all the others that there may be. I'm pretty much just wanting +2tree, or +1all with some resists or other nice mods on them. Whatever I can do to keep them below level 30 is what I need to know.
I have heard that the character level you gamble with will get items up to 4 levels below his own. Thus putting me at 34? If it is at all possible, can one of ya'll repost without the technical phrasing? I'm really wanting only 1 character to do all of my LLD gambling. I would rather show up in duels with full rare gear than with cookie cutter unique(oxymoron) builds.

To summarize what Helvette said: Level 45 will give you a good chance for +2 tree, while keeping the chances of the level req being over 30 fairly low. Lower levels will reduce your chance of getting +2tree.
Ok, thank you for the lamens. Level 45 gambler it is.
how about getting nice rares for level 18 chars? Not talking amu's, just stuff generally (like nice boots or gloves or , or, or a spear mister)
