Just want to know if it is good to have or bad in pvp and pvm.

Certain mods are not triggered when whirlwind is used. I believe knockback does not strike with whirlwind, the same way "% chance to cast" mods don't strike.

It works in PvP and PvM, just not with WW.

knockback works with WW, I'm pretty sure of it.

It does work with ww, it strikes on the last hit that your ww connects (or the first i forget). WW sins use it by wearing a Gskull or other kb modded item. Its very effective, though finding a wep with it is very hard and using a Gskull is 'meh' on a barb. Up to you

Knockback works fine with Whirlwind, in fact I’m building a ww barb based on kb right now.

I guess I just never noticed the effect.
