What merc should I use?

I have a blizzballer sorc, and now i've got my hands on an insight Colossous Voulge. I was wondering, should I keep my Normal Def merc, which cant have huge armor anyway now, since i need +str to wear the CV, or should I go with a normal combat merc for the double prayer that meditation gives? Or a completely different?

I'm mostly doing meph and countess runs right now and i'm level 81, but i was thinking to start some baaling to gain exp...

just check with which one you feel most comfortable. I personally love prayer mercs for casters, because I hate potting.

Defiance merc tanks well. Give him a griswold armor and a 3 socket helm. Stick amethysts there and he'll lift the voulge.

Later on, when he can lift the voulge without the helm, switch it to a leeching helm, like crown of thieves.

Get him to lvl 83 and give him andy visage. It's a huge 29 to strength if I remembered correctly.

i put leviathen on and use delirium, i like the catsing of spells, and use insight.

Andy's Visage will give plenty str for eth or noneth Infinity CV.

Armors can be stone, duress, shaftstop, duriel's shell, etc.

I prefer eth fort, gives good defense.

i prefer to use the act 2 hell mercs. i usually go for the deffensive as well

Am I the only person who likes act 5 mercs? I've had the best luck with mine. He only dies to iron maiden and fighting things he cant leech off of. Hes got an Eth BOTD CB, gaze, and shaftshop. 20LL, 44%DR and does sick damage.
