i made a fire trapper and wanted to go with a different setup. ive played since the old days and have always fancied the silence runeword. a silence phaseblade is what i built my trapper around, hence "Silent Trapper". my goal was to have good plus skill, fhr, max ias for trap laying, dr, and all dat good stuff. silence is perfect for this =)

here was me setup and skills

HELM- shako with 15%ias/ resist jewel
AMMY- maras
ARMOR- enigma
WEAPON- silence phaseblade
SHIELD- chammed stormshield
BELT- verdungos
RING- soj
RING- soj
GLOVES- blood fist
BOOTS- shadow dancers

charms were 9 skillers, torch, anni and a bunch of sc's.

this setup so far gives max dr, mas ias speed for trap laying without any burst of speed, pretty good resist from the ss/ jewel in shako/ maras and 75 from the silence =). it gives 90 fhr just from items, pretty decent Oo. and 10 plus to skills from just items.

i maxed the layout for fire skills and i maxed fade. with fade on i had extra dmg reduce, so i was able to switch the Storm shield with something else at certain times.

i made this character on ladder and he was pretty fun and pretty good. now i know he lacks FCR but ive never been a fan of throwing around mind blast. im just too lazy to switch all the skills. plus, with fire all over the screen i just run around in circles and recast, it works pretty well for me.
now i have a cookie cutter lit trapper on ladder with some pretty insane items, super faster cast rate and all that hoobla. yeah hes alot better, but this build was just fun for me.

ide like to know what all of you think of this build, it doesnt have to be fire. just tell me what you think of item layout. also, since you dont need any uber rares or magical claws,it makes this setup relatively cheap.

ide also like to know if this setup has been used or posted before, and if not, then we should keep this setup known as the "silent trapper" build.
well, thanks in advance for all your input. =)

So you're a pure fire trapper with a silence weapon? Or do you have another source of damage?

And I wouldn't call that gear "cheap"...

just curious what dmg ur dealing. im building a hybrid with fire traps and i'm looking to make a few last min calculations before i build. if u could list the dmg without the gcs too that would be even more helpful since u have exactially the amount of +skills from gear as i'll have for traps.

sorry order, i stripped the guy and gave all his items away when i thought i had quit. i think i had 2k wake of fire and 5 or 6 k wake of inferno. wake of fire, or whichever one shoots out the V's of fire kills pretty fast though.

and too the other guy, this build requires no uber runewords, no one of a kind rare claws or circlet, and no crafted or rare godly ammy. sure he requires some nice uniquues, soj and maras, but other than that he is relatively cheap in my opinion. with the right amount of time and dedication invested, these items shouldnt be too difficult to come by. and fire traps is the main source of dmg.

You did not have 2k wof with that gear, sorry.
Also I'm not quite getting what the point of silence in your build is.

Fire trappers should be aiming for high cast rates for tele and mindblast. Being "too lazy to switch all the skills" limits you to only being able to defeat weak opponents. A competitive fire trapper has to be a very fast namelocker, know how to tele-fireblast players and constantly keep the opponent under mindblast and trap stun.

I made my best attempt at a fire trapper w/ some perty crazy gear and @ lvl 54 WoF i hit 1.5k dmg with items like (2) +5 trap claws, 3 trap fcr ammy, 9 gcs, etc. And soon as any skilled players that new how to break or avoid mb came into a game, it was a lost cause. Unless ur happy killing some noobish pvp'ers, it's not an effective killer. Surprising tho, fireblast does some decent dmg and is kinda fun if you're good a placement.

edit:
I just went back and ran the numbers on fireblast... and DAMN.. you can hit some sick dmg w/ still maintaining core shadow disc skills. I got up to but not quite 9k per bomb. LOL that'd hurt.

wiz, like i said i stripped the guy so i was just guessing what his dmg was. is used silence because it let me use fade with still casting traps at the best speed and it gives me good resistance, and it just looks cool to me. i have a lit trapper whom i tele all around name lock and mb. i was going for something different here, i still used mb,its just not super fast.
i used the guy for a while and really enjoyed him. he was a nice tank, seemed like he killed fast to me, and just plain out fun.
